Does anyone remember that little guy who always fought on Lucian Bute's undercard? He was a little mean looking guy, knocking everybody out. He was looking really good.
Apparently he hasn't fought since knocking out Mark Lloyd on the undercard of Froch-Bute. Strange.
Maybe he saw what happened to Bute and realized boxing wasn't for him?
I don't know.
I guess he really isnt coming back. I heard he has a medical condition that makes him fatigue much faster than others. I used to tune in to Lucian Bute fights to watch Cote on the undercard. Really unfortunate cuz guy can really fkin crack and was exciting. I thought he was going places.
I remember stumbling across his twitter a while back on which he says he's retired, and he looked a little blown up. He gained an illness relating to fatigue due to over training.
that sucks. he hasn't fought since 2012

I was super hyped for the kid when he wrecked teron... Him and broner would have had a good scrap at lightweight
Me too man.
The guy still hasn't fought.
I wouldn't say that he wasn't that good because I've seen greats rocked early in their careers at lower levels. He blasted out a guy, Teron in much quicker fashion than Rios who was red hot at the time. He had a ferocious style and made for TV.
That's my feeling on him as well. Rarely, for some reason, do I get really excited about young fighters nowadays because there aren't that many genuine punchers left.
But this guy was not only a genuine puncher, but was also menacing. He loved it. Anyone that breaks his opponents jaw with the first punch, I wanna watch more of.
But if he isn't fighting anymore, that sucks - he was a good talent.
I heard he had another career and blew boxing off to focus on whatever the hell else he is doing. Can't back it up because I don't remember where I heard it, but yeah man.... fun fighter.
True, but I just feel he would of been thrown to the wolves since his late start. He's 30 now, I don't think he'd be too relevant at 135-140. He'd be in some exciting fights though I understand why people ask about him. With that kind of power, he would have made some great fights with his take no prisoners style. He might have been a wolf himself.

Yeah I've heard that from several people.
Cote really wasn't that good tho. Really explosive but other than that not much. He was like the watered down version of Gamboa and I say that being extremely generous.
The guy started boxing at 20, I've seen him rocked several different times by low op. He was heading for a KO once he stepped up IMO it would have been exciting thoughI wouldn't say that he wasn't that good because I've seen greats rocked early in their careers at lower levels. He had fights cancelled twice because of overtraining/he was feeling very tired. There is not much info but I think it is because of a medical condition. He hasn't fought since. I consider him retired

Yeah I was really excited about him... I think he pulled off a huge win on the televised undercard of a bute fight or Hopkins-pascal, and really thought he was gonna get more big fights and then nothing,,
