Since Zab Judah floyd has not fought a fighter that is considered to be quick and has handspeed. Throughout his career he keeps on picking on the same type of fighters. Fighters who can hit hard and that come forward. Its about time floyd picks a different type of fighter and prove that he can adapt to any style in the ring as he says.
I don't like Mayweather because of the type of person he is but his opposition has been very strong. I think Canelo should have been allowed to weigh in at the standard 154 pounds for his title fight with Mayweather. Every guy Mayweather has fought for years now has been a world champion and no other active fighter can match that. Floyd is fighting world champions every single fight so really I think the quality of his opposition the best of any active fighter.
That's what he did the whole fight, positioning himself to line Chavez up for the right uppercut. Again, I've seen these fights plenty.

so you think mayweather just had a brain fart in the 6th vs cotto or what? why'd his defense, strength all dissapear after that left hook and the stanky leg?
Good post!
Thurman fights very similar to Khan, imo. Both fight pretty well from the outside. They both like to mix it up on the inside but get incredibly wild. Add Pac to the Thurman/Khan list in regards to having loose defense.
That is why Khan and Pacquiao have been STOPPED by more patient and disciplined fighters. Thurman just hasn't been tested yet. But his time is coming. If Thurman fights Brooks, I'm predicting he gets stopped.
Floyd would beat all these guys because they are not technically sound.
Robert Garcia has worked with Maidana a lot and made him a much more technically sound fighter. He rarely smothers his own punches like Khan and Thurman.
I'd love to see this edition of Maidana vs Khan or Thurman. Hell, I'd like to see this version of Maidana square off with Pac.
I have much Respect for Maidana because not only did he get his shot the RIGHT WAY, Maidana also showed Improvement going back to the Ortiz fight which he got off the floor to win as well as the Khan fight in which Khan fans still hold on to as if Khan dominated but anybody that watched that fight knows that Khan BARELY SURVIVED thanks to a little bit of help from Joe Cortez and his random stop of the action for no reason
But this all of a sudden "WHY DON'T MAYWEATHER FIGHT SOMEONE FAST" BS all of a sudden comes mostly From KHAN FANS who basically want their guy to get a shot a Mayweather without truly earning it. Once again like I originally pointed out, this is all about "WHO FANS LIKE" has nothing to do with TRULY wanting to see Mayweather fight a "SKILLED FIGHTER" all of a sudden. Same fans who call most of the truly skilled boxers "BORING" :nonono:
Agreed on Thurman being a bit more selective than Khan.
I think a fighter like JMM would be a nightmare for Thurman. I just don't know what JMM has left.
Yep, that's why I wouldn't bet on Thurman beating Marquez or Danny Garcia.
you need to stop being so biased, after that left hook you can see him falling onto chaves and he's basically doing the worm upright, it's all in the legs

Thurman is far more selective than Khan when it comes to picking his spots and changing his arsenal of punches, even changing speed, on top of that you will never see Thurman finishing off a combination whilst off balance or squaring up the way Khan does.
I admit though, I do see instances where Thurman looks vulnerable especially to a good counter puncher but his ability to regroup, roll shots and pull out separate him from reckless fighters like Khan.

but the left hand that did more damage earlier in the fight he fought back, he doesn't like to give away that he's hurt, corley pushed him to the ropes when he hit him with the right and he played along, he's safer there he feels anyway
he held onto mosley like he held onto judah when they did that spin move, he's a natural athlete and they know what they need to balance themselves, you can see as soon as mosley hurts him he's very adamant about not letting mosley push him back and is immediately trying to push him back
Corley wobbled him there, he did come back which is why I said you do make somewhat of a valid point. There you can clearly see that he was wobbled, he did the dance.
What your showing me though with Cotto and Chavez, that's an overstatement.
Honestly man, give it up :lol1:

I said quick to press, he went defensive against Corley after he was hurt with the right hook, he held on when Mosley caught him big. You still make somewhat of a valid point though, still doesn't hold credence to Cotto hurting him which is an overstatement.

when has he not pressed the attack when hurt?

Only reason Im saying floyd should face someone different is because he is p4p#1 fighter and as a fan of boxing. he should be held to higher standards.
So you were making threats like this about Pac when he was considered P4P#1 by many??
I watched the round before you even came back and posted it. Wasn't hurt nor wobbled, he quickly pressed the attack right after.
when has he not pressed the attack when hurt?
turn annotations off, best quality i could find
start paying attention at 2:43(round time)
smacked at 2:41, notice the jerky leg, awkward bounce away, defense suffering, whatever cotto throws hits the mark, slow and very weak
takes some obstruction to not see it

They do have skills. I think a better description would be technically sound. Thurman nor Khan seem very technically sound. They do things that are not taught and they lack certain fundamentals (in-fighting, defense, etc..).

None of those guys wobbled or hurt Mayweather, I've seen those fights enough times to know that.

I believe Khan and Pacman are skilled fighters , we might have different opinion on what a skilled fighter is.

When will the REST OF BOXING catch up as far as BOXING SKILLS Go?
You're basically suggesting Amir Khan I am going to assume by your Sig lol, I would be all for Amir Khan getting a shot if he fights and beat at Top 10 Welterweight and beat them impressively so that the buzz for that fight will start here in the US, but he is playing it safe taking winning about fights then him and his fans are acting like ENTITLED B!TCHES
But the reason why he keeps fighting Flat Footed Fighters is because it is really not many Skill Fighters at 140-154
I would love to see Demetrius Andrade get a shot at Mayweather but that is not likely because of Politics and also the fact that fans once against have taking the side of HYPE>SKILLS
You and many others would rather see the HYPED UP FIGHTER you like get a shot a Mayweather instead of the guy who does have the SKILLS TO CHALLENGE MAYWEATHER and to PROVE that is not what most of you want to see, how many people have called for Mayweather to fight someone "SKILLED"
You guys don't want to see Mayweather lose to someone "SKILLED" you want to see him lose to someone you LIKE and most of the fighter you guys like have no fukin chance against Mayweather or is too far out of his division
If the list of the names your suggesting is laughable because none of those fighters are truly "SKILLED" because Lara and Thurman has SOME SKILLS. Pacquiao is not a "SKILLED FIGHTER" and neither is Khan. Both are good athletes and very fast but as far a PURE BOXING SKILLS...NO THEY'RE NOT!
