Who is next for Mayweather and why?

Obviously we all feel it should be Manny Pacquiao but if not him, then who? Amir Khan? It may make some good money but no one can say FOR SURE. But may be competitive because of Khans speed. Canelo Alvarez 2? The only reason to make the 2nd fight is for financial reasons. It will make big money. Period. Keith Thurman? It can be competitive and hardcores will love it but no money here. Danny Garcia? Can be good money ( two unbeatens with names) can be competitive, maybe, ...it's interesting. Miguel Cotto 2? Very interesting, very competitive, and good money. We all talk about the Canelo vs Cotto clash and it's great. But if I were managing Cotto, I would tell him to take Floyd 1st, if you lose Canelo will still be there. If you fight Canelo and lose..you will never get that Floyd 2. What's your vote and why?

For his legacy a mw win over Cotto then a 147 against Manny would be huge,nothing could emulate this,will he ? No.maybe we see a Cotto fight then Garcia instead,or possibly Khan then Garcia,two no hopers.i shudder at the thought of Money vs Khan,it'd be 12 hardcore rounds of who could clinch the hardest. If Floyd really wants to be considered 'TBE' then he has to go for Cotto then Manny yet we know he will avoid Manny like the bubonic plague,because he is desperate to preserve his current legacy. IMO The fight with Floyd and Cotto makes a lot of sense....it adds more legacy to Floyd's resume, another weight division,WHAT? As for Cotto if he loses , the Canelo fight still has appeal ...TWO huge paydays. The only problem is the Arum road block.

The problem with Khan is he needs another fight at 147 for the fight to be viable and he is always at risk for getting his with a big shot. I think Arum/Oscar really want to make Canelo/Cotto to get that Cinco de drinko weekend back. I doubt Golden Boy is involved with Floyd going forward so they have no reason to back down. Floyd has waited until late February/early March to announce his opponents. Canelo/Cotto could be made well before then and force Floyd off the date.

Khan. It is a very easy fight for him, I'm surprised people can't see it. Khan's the kind of guy that in theory would present style issues but in reality would get picked apart (after a fast start). Floyd's still a sharp shooter and would time Khan again and again. When has Amir faced an elusive fighter with speed and brilliant timing? Amir doesn't have a good chin, good power or ring IQ. He's all athleticism and you need more than that to beat Floyd Mayweather. People also talk about how Khan beat Chino, but Chino was all over Khan. I give Khan credit for the win but he was one to two punches away from a KO throughout the whole fight and he knows it.

I would like to see something like Thurman vs Khan for eliminator to Floyd vs Thurm/Khan Then Floy vs Pac But that won't happen!

I think he'll fight Khan then end it, finally, with Pac and retire... Then two years later he'll make a very ill advised comeback because he's broke. I think he'd be better off fighting Garcia or Brook who I'm confident he'd fairly easy defeat. I think people underestimate Khan. His biggest weakness is his chin and Floyd just doesn't have much power. Khan's speed might give Floyd a lot of trouble.

He can punch. He has advantages over Maidana and him and Maidana would be a good fight but as you know styles make fights. Maidana has a style that would cause Floyd problems. Brook has a style that's tailor made for Mayweather. Mayweather would beat Brook to the punch everytime. He's way too slick.

I think Khan. the only other fight I can see out there is Cotto at MW or Pacquiao. The latter is not happening, and the Khan fight is right there. At worst it's on par with the Maidana fights, at best it does a lot better. I think people will buy into Khan's style and threat-

Before their respective last two performances I wouldn't have given him a prayer but now...I'm not so sure. I would still pick Mayweather but I think you're selling Brook more than a bit short, he's a live dog. He can punch. I see May doing the catchweights in next two fights. Danny Garcia at 144 for the Junior Welter then Cotto at 156 for the Middle Weight then he will be #1 at Junior Welter, Welter and Middleweight simultaneously. How's he going to do Jr WW at 144? Anything above 140 is no longer Jr WW.

I think it's a case of styles. I don't see a boxer who boxes at Floyds pace beating him. Especially if your feet and hands are slow ike Brook. Brook reminds me of Canelo at times. I think a fight with Floyd would look similar. Very good points,, kinda like Floyd vs Marquez.. Marquez just too slow to deal with Floyd even though he is a great boxer in his own right
