how do network deals even work, can you just jump ship at any time? or you gotta finish out contract of fights? because they already have a contract with their promoter.
and what about those guys fighting on espn like stiverne
Good stuff. If Canelo beats Cotto I think he's going directly at GGG.
Interesting. I just see no way Canelo can beat GGG. He better steer clear of that guy until he grows as a fighter a bit more.
They need each other. If you're a GGG fan a win over Canelo would be huge for his status
A fight between GGG and Canelo will be massive, of course. But if Canelo fights on HBO this will be GGG-Martinez/Cotto all over again.
Alot of good fights for canelo on hbo
Canelo-cotto
canelo-ggg
canelo-andrade
canelo-chaves jr
All PPV worthy maybe exept andrade unless he wins the middle weight title , thn hell be a 2 weight champ
HBO is Gennady's playground, doesn't Cinnamon know that? He should stick to Showtime if he wants to pick on the Josesitos and Angulos of the world.

I'm sure alot of people expected this especially after Jim Lampley interviewed both Bob and Oscar.
HBO PPV - December 6th, 2014
Canelo Alvarez vs. Joshua Clottey
Mauricio Herrera vs. Emmanuel Taylor
Humberto Soto vs. Ali Oubaali
James De La Rosa vs. Delvin Rodriguez
I thought this was a given after Bhop decided to jump ship a couple of weeks ago, that was the first shoe to drop. It would be a great move for Canelo I think
Canelo Alvarez vs. Joshua Clottey
Humberto Soto vs. Mauricio Herrera
I would suspect that Emmanuel Taylor would be added to the card as well since he's with Star Boxing like Clottey. I still think it's possible this Canelo card ends up on PPV and they'll sell to the highest bidder between Showtime and HBO, just make sure you don't have any Al Haymon fighters on the main card.
I wonder if the move is because SHO told Canelo they are gonna give the May date to Floyd because of the reported 925k ppv's sold.
Canelo/Cotto may not come anywhere near that given the low numbers for both earlier this year.
Good move because Canelo's 3 biggest fights other than a Floyd rematch are on HBO-Cotto, GGG, and the big one-Chavez Jr.
Cotto's case is a bit different. It's based on sentimental reasons considering he rejected Showtime's hefty offer.
His speech addressing the audience at the MSG in the Martinez post-fight interview is very telling. Probably the same reason why he went back to Arum, patch things up, express gratitude, build old bridges in preparation for his retirement.
Does this mean a fight with Cotto is on the Horizon? My guess is that Arum persuaded Oscar to move Canelo to HBO and let Haymon and Espinoza finish ruining Showtime.
