I think this Ray Rice situation will hurt the buyrate, its the only thing these sports channels and radio stations are talking about. That plus the inflated price tag and bad under card leads me to believe this PPV might go as low as 725,000 buys.
Whats your prediction?
You have the built in Rican crowd but I don't think they would go out of their way to buy a PPV just for him.
One thing to note is that there has been a general downturn in PPV numbers this year in boxing, mma and I think even WWE.
Garcia vs Salsa did more than Martinez vs Cotto.

950K buys and Showtime forces Floyd to fight Pac if he wants to stay on their network.
Casuals care about Garcia. Did you see how many views Garcia vs Salsa did.

It should do better then the first because the result was seen as competitive, and some casuals will now know who Maidana is.
The undercard will have very little or no effect. Casuals don't care. They didn't really care about Lucas-Garcia.

Slightly more then the first, 950k-1 million
Nobody is boycotting a PPV because of some stupid comments. People would pay to watch a murderer if he was a top prizefighter.

It was going to be less than the first one with or without the Rice comments. That has nothing to do with buys. I believe it will be at 805K. Just falling Short of Garcia vs Salsa.
Why are you guys saying the PPV is $78?
I thought it was $69.99 flat rate HD feed.
The boxing card tonight is better than the PPV undercard that just tells you that Haymon pays his roster to much $$ for garbage fights. I wonder how much is the cost for tonight's card? Fighter purses?
They raised the price
I predict Floyd will make over 70 MILLION this weekend
Tell that to 50 cent. Your hero is a fake millionaire. Most of these numbers are fake. His PPVs are over inflated. Espinoza discovered that they're over exaggerated. Reason why he's no longer releasing numbers. The numbers in the Maidana 1 were so abysmally low that he's so embarrassed to release them.
There's a reason why he's still fighting.
800K
For some reason, the casuals I work with didn't even know Mayweather had a fight this week and because of that it looks like I'll just be going to the movie theater to watch this.
Mayweather/Maidana will break 900,000 buys, but if it breaks 1 million buys, it will barely break it. Still, I predict that it will sell more PPVs than Pacquaio/Algieri, Cotto/Alvarez (if it takes place) and GGG vs anybody combined.

I think it'll break 1 million homes just like the first one. The Rice situation only added to his publicity via social media. Plus, this IS in fact the fight that the fans wanted. There was no one else. The fans chose this fight and it's what they get. The first one was action packed, which was a ploy by Floyd which he did on purpose to build up interest for the rematch.
I don't think the first cracked a milly bro. Floyd only cracked a mill in his fight vs Canelo. Alvarez' fan base and Danny vs Lucas helped a lot. This weekends card isn't as stacked so that Definatly won't help.
