14-1 odds against a man with 0 fights at 147 and no punching power...His best win is Ruslan who's best win is Alvarado who's best win is Rios....So all this boycott talk should it not be directed at this fight?

This fight had don't buy me written all over it the moment it was announced. No need for a formal boycott because only 250,000 of Pacquaio's most loyal fans will buy it anyway (although Arum will claim it sold 400,000). Pacquaio/Provodnikov would have only sold 500,000 if it had taken place because only that number would have been willing to watch Pacquaio face a slow, plodding, robotic punching bag like Provodnikov, and Pac/Algieri will sell only half of that.
Guerrero was Floyd's mandatory, and he held the interim WBC welterweight title, not to mention he was a 4 division champ. Guerrero was clearly a better opponent than Algeri.
Guererro and algieri are tune-up fights and their both are great tune-up fights young, undefeated, coming of great wins.

I'm not buying it as of now. I don't think copying d4thincarnation or Bob ARum and "boycotting" the fight is necessary.
why? i'm not complaining when may vs guererro is made
and who are guererro have beaten exactly? floyd and manny can pick their opponent no matter how weak they are, they had that power.
and in other threads you call Pac vs Garcia is cherry picking, how stupid are you?

Guerrero are beaten berto and was undefeated up until that point, having moved up weight classes and not coming in overweight for previous fights. Guerrero was at least coming off a big win. Rios couldn't be justified. But Algieri can at least.

I wouldn't even say we should boycott the fight, because some fights are just not PPV worthy, and this is one of those fights. So I just wouldn't pay for it, and I'd be surprised if anyone who wasn't just a Pac fan would pay for it.
On another note I think it goes to show how far apart Mayweather and Pac are when it comes expectations are and the actual level. Mayweather was a 13-1 favorite against a two division champ who has proven himself at 140 and 147 and was known by his peers as one of the most devastating P4P punchers in the sport. And was the WBA welterweight Champ.
Whereas Pac is a 14-1 favorite and he's fighting a guy who has no punching power, has one notable win which was a questionable win for a title at 140, has never even faced a top 15 welterweight, Has no notable names on his resume other than Provo.
The reason i am asking is because Floyds fights always get attacked but his fight is better then mannys upcoming fight yet Manny always gets a pass..Even when they fight the exact same opponent it is a great fight for Manny but a cherry pick for Floyd
Oh it had something to do with Floyd?
Didn't see that coming.
Who are you kidding Larry.
Your broke ass isn't paying for any fight.
I'm not going to support mayweather so I'll boycott that fight
Algieri is a live dog to me so ill watch that

As much as I want to boycott it, seeing him get his eared boxed clean off by an ESPN rate fighter would be just as hilarious. I think I'll probably end up ordering it.
What is your opinion of this
Yeah, Cotto only showed glimpse of it, but he isn;t a slick boxer and still he confused Floyd.
I think Floyd isn't really as smart as people think in the ring, he has us fooled because his opposition have all mainly been tailormade, he is the type who cant chew gum and walk, his focus has to be on one thing at a time, if you can dance on your toes and bounce around it will make him confused he has to focus on either the hands or the feet so he loses focus and that is how Cotto popped him with the jab from time to time
Also that is how Mosley was able to catch him with the overhand, Mosley does that bounce and than attacks which is kinda hard to time, Floyd main reason for not fighting Pacman is probably not the power but because of his awkwardness and difficulty of movement if Floyd misses Pac would def make him pay and Floyd hates throwing punches unless its for sure they will land.
Khan presents that instead foot movement that is hard to time, and Thurman as well Thurman is a good boxer who moves well on his feet but with power and stamina.
Excellent analysis. Much respect. He might be able to outmuscle Pacquaio but Thurman looks to be a much sturdier natural welter. Hopefully he pans out.
I wouldn't consider cotto slick though. Floyd hasn't really have any slick boxers who are prime to his credit that I can think of.
Long rangy boxers who have movement right now would be khan and maybe Thurman.

Zab Judah was a flat footed guy with fast hands, he could hop back but he didn't dance on his feet, he was planted when he throws and would stand still just pawing at Floyd before unleashing a combo.
Sharmba past his prime and not really a great back foot boxer. he was short and always had his guard open and would just paw and parry the punches Floyd pot shot that little man all day.
Cotto was the only one who gave some glimpses of popping a sharp jab off the back foot, when he did that it confused Floyd, Floyd kept getting popped because the bouncing on the feet confused Floyd, he seems to have trouble reading feet and hands at the same time, its probably waay he avoids guys with move a lot on the back foot and throw awkward angle punches.

read the responses in this thread..then read the ones in the thread talking about boycotting Floyd..hilarious
Hey larold when are you going to understand that PAC fans are just as stupid as Floyd fans!
Both of you come from the same pile of sh it
You have to go back to Zab and Sharmba Mitchell, both were boxers but neither are long and rangy

Exactly, the only ones who have a problem with it are tHE Floyd stands.
One of them even said this was worse than Danny Garcia vs. Rob Salka.
They are devoid of logic and reasoning, everything is emotional with them.
This fight is a bettors dream, Chris is a live dog, and everyone who has followed Mannys career know that Chris has the style nightmare that gives Pac trouble, heck the floyd stans should be the first ones to acknowledge this since they are the ones who always say that Pac never fights guys who move or they give him trouble, well he fought Bradley and now Algieri both guys are movers who are not flat footed and very slick.
Its not PPV worthy but its a real live fight, Maidana vs. Mayweather is tailormade, i wish Floyd would fight someone like a Bradley, Khan, or Algieri, heck chris is tall and lanky and moves a lot, floyd would ahve trouble trying to chase him down, when was the last time we saw floyd fight someone who wasnt tailormade for him?
When was the last time he fought a guy who moved a lot was slick and wasn't flat footed?
