CARL FROCH is not ready to tumble from his position as the world’s best super-middleweight – whoever he meets next.
While his promoter Eddie Hearn is in negotiations with potential opponents, Froch is currently twisting and turning in BBC gymnastics reality show Tumble. Hearn has a number of options for Froch’s planned defence of his IBF and WBA world belts, possibly at London’s 02 Arena in February.

Yep they do have a fairly substantial history, Degale called out Froch for years. If you remember during the Degale vs Groves build up, Froch was quoted several times saying he wanted Groves to beat Degale because he didnt like Degale.. And that was due to Degale calling him out year after year. This is not some random match up that has materialized out of thin air, the rivalry goes way, way back. Right now things have calmed down between them both on a personal level, under the media spotlight, but there is no doubt that Degale is still hungry as hell to beat Froch.
That's not history and i remember that vividly. It was because of how Degale had behaved himself toward Groves, not towards Froch.
As I said, they don't have history.
I think many guys could potentially beat Froch, doesn't mean it makes sense to make the fight. Degale brings nothing to Froch's resume. Literally nothing. I've begun to like Degale a lot more recently, but I just don't see why Froch would fight him. They don't have history, he's not beaten anyone of note, he's not a belt holder, he's not popular after being wasted away in leisure centers on channel 5 for years. For Degale it obviously makes sense, of course. But from Froch's perspective, and if this is his last fight, it would be extremely disappointing in my opinion.

Froch is a legend. He's fought and won at the highest level in his division without break for 6 years straight. No one else in boxing can match the run he's been on since 2008 or so. The only man to clearly beat him was Andre freaking Ward, arguably the best fighter in the sport.
Ward didn't even clearly beat him if you remember - Froch only needed to win one more round on the judges cards and it would have been officially a draw, and Froch had Ward in all sorts of trouble towards the end of that fight, Ward was just trying to hang in there and survive
Then how can it be pointless? It's maybe not the most exciting match-up but it's not pointless.
DeGale is his mandatory.
Rodriguez didn't even make weight for Ward.

The reason the fight isn't happening is the same reason Chavez Jr backed out of the GGG fight and the same reason he turned down the Anthony Dirrell fight.
Get your head out your arse.
No one said who was a bigger name than who. Froch is bigger in the UK, Jr is obviously bigger in North America. It would be PPV on both sides of the Atlantic.
Oh and Chavez Jr is a fuking bum, mate. Bang average. Froch has taken on anyone and everyone yet he's gonna back down to this glorified road sweeper? LOL
In what world is Carl Froch not a bigger name than Chavez jr? It sure as hell isn't this one.
Regardless... Froch is a caveman and legit champ, but he's not a bigger name than Chavez. Tbh frochs lack of boxing skill coupled with chavez's inside game is probably the real reason this fight isn't happening

Please show me where Carl Froch himself said Chavez Jr was not marketable.
You're quoting something put in there by the Daily Star.
Yes, your reference is the Daily fking Star. :smashfrea

Instead of updating ur wallpaper with a guy who has fought more bums than Tyrone nurse over 30 odd fights' u need to update ur reading skills...."Chavez ruled out because he's not marketable enough" but caveman considers de gale which incuinates that. I'm British and because of how the business is over here and lack of quality training, all we generally produce is overrated paper champions. The only exception is the caveman, but don't think for one second he's a bigger name than Chavez jr. And to the idiot who thinks Johnson definitely didn't beat froch, I'm not the only one who thinks so, many people hold that opinion...then again I don't expect an educated post from someone who idolises a man that messed up with angelina jolie.
Kell is a paper champ, you look at those welterweights and tell me he is a legit champ. Stealing the title from another paper champ via uncle fast car Eddie don't mean jack

New England is kind of a mystery. On NSB he is a USA-chanting tard who claims merely being American makes fighters "higher level" than inferior European fighters.
In the lounge he rants about banning guns and reeling in those rednecks and making the US more like Europe.
I think we have another Inkanyamba on our hands.
Not much a mystery. He openly admits he likes f*cking with the Brits, so he insults every Brit fighter.

He's really become obsessed with the UK in recent times. Probably because us Brit posters serve him like tea and crumpets

He's not as bad as Inkanyamba though, that guy is just straight up weird.
our carl fights the best doe!
if ward fought groves or degale you guys would be calling it a cherry pick :lol1:
degale is several steps below rodriguez. i expect you all to put him on a pedestal, of course, because you don't let reality get in teh way of your hatred for andre ward.
Excactly, he does. Not like your hero, who's working with Conte and doesn't want travel. Who would call it a cherrypick if he fought Groves? I don't think anybody would.
That caveman changed his tune....funny thing was he's deeming Chavez jr a less marketable opponent than "live from the bluewater glow" James de gale. Funnier still is froch thinking he's a bigger name than Chavez jr, with questionable decision wins against Johnson, dirrell, et al...and bar the groves fights man barely made 500k a fight, no doubt the British ball hangers will dispute.....but will once again have to understand that to the rest of the world most British fighters are ticket sellers/bums/paper champions.
The rest of the world?? How on earth do you manage to keep in touch with everyone? Remember the british have around two thousand years of heritage to look back on for inspiration, while the USA has around two hundred years, which is why DC and Marvel etc create so many heroes (the country isn't old enough to have real ones), but they are on the forefront of entertainment and certain technological sectors. But again, this is the reason that your post is so blinkered, as demonstrated by your comment alluding to less than 500k a fight.
What kind of moron measures a fighters legacy by his wages :smashfrea go to the library and sit with Floyd in the reading circle.
JR doesn't want to fight Froch and probably never did, he was just a name bandied around after the wembley success with Groves.
you didn't. what you did was ignore that part of the guy's post, looking only to the part about johnson. the performance agaist dirrell is relevant in assessing how overrated carl froch is.
it's important to recognize in constancy that froch got his ass kicked by andre dirrell. he was eating combinations, and literally ducking his head to get out of the way, the way a 10 year old does in the gym. he's a hugely overrated fighter. it's getting embarrassing for the brits. they're on the level with the PRS overrating cotto in the advent of the win over martinez.
carl "forehead defense" froch.
Hold on a second lol, Froch is hugely overrated and yet he's Wards best win? The fighter you call one of, if not THE best in the world. How the fuck can that be if his best win has reflexes that resemble a 10 year old in the gym?
Everytime you downplay 'our Carl', you're taking away your mans best achievement. Take Carl of Wards resume and you're struggling to place Andre in the top 10 p4p, because you know, those Euro bums Kessler and Abraham don't hold a candle to the US fighters.
You don't half chat shit sometimes lol.
