Shannon Briggs latest comeback...

I have kept up with all the times briggs interrupted wladimir klitschko's training sessions, press conferences & dinners out. too bad he doesn't put as much energy into his fights as he does into training & mouthing off. 7 or 8 years ago if he could have shown up at 238lbs & in the shape he is now he may have done more damage in the division. he was always in the 260-270 lbs range. way too bulking & he couldn't get his punches off. he had no stamina but now at 42 it is too late. he feasted on a few cans & went 12 with zambano love. he was gassed after his initial minute flurry & all he did was follow him around for 12 rounds. he barely threw & even though love was just running briggs could have cut off the ring & put him away early. I don't know If he just wanted some rounds but there is no way zambano love should have gone 12 with him. whenever briggs did land you could see it hurt him. he would get his ass kicked by wlad & end up in the hospital again. if he wants a title shot he should try & fight a couple better fighters first. he is 42 so he needs to move fast. he might be able to land a shot if he were to beat a couple decent journeymen like derric rossy & kevin Johnson. he also should consider taking on a younger guy like andy ruiz or Charles martin. I doubt briggs will get in position but you never know...

Shannon Briggs stepping it up. He continues to show he is deserving of a title shot with his next assignment. He is fighting journeyman Zoltan Petranyi March 27. There are so many top 20-30 guys who would fight him yet he chooses to stay busy with opponents like this. I'd be happy if he fought Tarver. At least Tarver ko'd Banks. Razor Ruddock is fighting the next night. Ruddock is fighting former Canadian champion Ray Olubowale. Might as well fight Razor next...

He's always had stamina issues due to asthma. I've been watching his short fitness vids on instagram and he seems like he's in great shape. He's swimming, doing stairs and aerobic fitness - he has to be in decent shape, right? He does seem to be in good shape and he's always eating healthy according to his videos. And I also think he's on PED's. No joke.

You all saw what Vitali did to briggs---that was almost hard to watch. Wlad will beat him up way worse ! and im not a Clinchko fan it would be a very dangerous fight for Briggs if it happened

Anyone that batters Lennox Lewis around the ring, no matter how short lived, Is good in my books. While i dig your Ibanez and Carvin Legacy ..........i disagree with your view of that fight. Briggs did stun Lewis..for sure.....but Lewis proceeded to put a f.kn beating on briggs afterward . :boxing:

Briggs doesn't want to get in with someone with a pulse, unless it's Wladimir. Shannon Briggs is notorious for taking the easy path to a title shot. I call it the "Shannon Briggs bum 'o the month route." He travelled that route for both the Vitali and Ibragimov fights and I don't expect him to travel any other way.he beat liakhovich with a come from behind KO with seconds left in the fight before he lost to ibragimov. I think briggs & liakhovich were both with don king at the time. I could be wrong but it was long ago..

He has horrible wind issues. You can here it when he talks. sounds like hes out of breath when he talks. A high rate heavyweight would with a good body attack would get him out there by 4. age is not on his side. he is in the best shape I've seen him in a decade but other then the serious beating he took from vitali we haven't seen him fight anyone since ibragimov. we really have no idea what he has left. i'd like to see what he does against another top 20 fighter. Briggs had the opportunity to fight Leapai but he fought Cory Phelps instead....i'm not sure why he wouldn't fight leapai. i know he trashed talked him but even at his age i doubt leapai could take his bombs. leapai is an all or nothing fighter. he's been in some good rocky type fights but he is so limited. briggs can actually box some. if he beat leapai with the 2 regional belts (i don't get the latino title...LOL!) then he would actually have a case. he is already in the top 15 in a couple organizations i think with those belts.

they look staged but I admit they are pretty funny... if briggs can beat one legit top 10 guy like povetkin, arreola, Thompson, etc then maybe I could possibly accept it but he hasn't done that & he needed 12 rounds to beat zambano love.... Briggs would get savagely bullied by Povetkin. Arreola punishes him. Thompson schools him.
