This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
It was a good win, he surprised me. I'm never getting on the hype train, but I respect his win, and now that I see what he has at the top level I definitely respect him as a fighter, I won't bash him. I hope he beats Khan and fights Floyd next year.
Write off a fighter before they prove you wrong, ride them while they are on top, dump into the trash once they lose.
That's what happened to Porter and will happen to Brook if he loses to Khan or whoever else.
You obviously haven't watched any of his other fights, cause that isn't his style, he had to fight like that due to porter swinging like a retard.
I watched a few fights of him and I never found him that exciting. IMO he never was quick guy. He isn't sloppy but he is way too static for my taste and on his other fights maybe he didn't rely so much to his jab, but I think it could be because he had mediocre opponents whom he could walk down and he didn't have to use it so often. So I appreciate him and nothing personal, but sorry, for me his style is boring so I'm not and probably never will be on his bandwagon.
I'm not ready to board yet. I'm certainly not going to take anything away from the guy -- he's a really good fighter. But I don't know if he's special per se. His performance over Porter was nice but hardly transcendent. And lets face it, Porter proved himself to be completely one dimensional.
Brook is nice but I need to see more than just a win over Shawn Porter before I jump on that train. A lot more.
Exactly this^^^^^^^^^^
i didnt know that a win over Porter would lead to all this
Why not?
Beating Paulie Malignaggi apparently makes you an indestructible 'mini Mike Tyson' - it's only right that the guy who beats up Mini Tyson get's some love...
I undertestimated him, but his style is still fucking boring for me. I usually don't get excited with fighters with little to none movement and footwork. For me speed was always more spectacular than timing or power, this is why I hope that some more exciting fighter (for my taste) will take Brook's belt. Nothing personal, just don't like his style. Same goes to Klitschko. I appreciate him and he is a great sportman, but his jab based, static, style is hundred times more boring than Bradley, Ward or Rigo whom I really like but their style is usually called "boring". So my taste it seems like a little bit different than the majority's but that's okay for me.

It's crazy, all this hype for a clinchfest and most of you were complaining last year about the hype around Matthysse...
Exactly. This hype train will crumble any time soon. It's too fragile. Khan alone would shatter this train with his lightning combos. Brook would be shocked how how ordinary he is. Khan would clinch like a leech and win a comfortable UD win, and I can't wait to see him and his fans cry and whine about Khan's clinching. LOL. This will be hilarious.

I ain't on no hype train cause I've been supporting Kell for years and been going to his fights over the last three years cause he is a local fighter, and when I first come on this site I was the only one with a Brook avi, I'm what you would call a proper fan.
I'll take a spot at the front of the train next to the driver. Next stop, Sheffield. :boxing:
And nothing will stop this train from ramming through everything in our way.
