In Roachs most recent interview for IFLTV he states how he would jump at the chance to match the pacman with khan. He mentioned khans 'been down a couple of times' with manny, what I think this means is he's been knocked down in sparring.
He also states his fighter Frankie Gomez would knock khan out now, and that Golovkin isn't worth the risk for Cotto as he doesn't bring a great cash reward. Check it out:

Exactly a few years ago freddie roach said khan was given manny all he could handle and it would go back and forth between the two. This of course was when roach had both fighters
In sparring sessions? Not the same ..... gloves used are different, head-gear protection, lights, camera, action .....
Not going to say that Khan can't but the thing is that getting into a war is not a good thing for Khan's chin. remove the head gear and his chin becomes his kryptonite!
Manny's punches come fast. Khan admits to this too. In a real fight, Khan does the bambi! Khan can't get into a brawl. He would have to fight a boring, hold'em and move for 12 rounds.
he said something completely different in another interview
me thinks sour grapes from freddie troll

'Freddie Roach Confirms: Yes, Amir Khan Did Great In All The Sparring Sessions With Manny Pacquiao, Khan Dropped Pacquiao A Total Of 3 Times, Pacquiao Never Dropped Khan - Only Khan And Pacquiao Can Beat Floyd.
Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach has revealed sensational details of the sparring sessions that took place between his star fighter - 8 division world champion Manny Pacquiao - and his former pupil - former unified junior welterweight world champion Amir Khan, at the Wildcard Gym in Hollywood, California, USA.
Roach has trained Pacquiao (55-5-2, 38KOs) for many years, overseeing his sensational world title triumphs in 8 weight classes - a record in boxing. Roach also started training Khan (28-3, 19KOs) in 2009 - when Khan was a Olympic Silver Medallist at the age of just 17, and was just coming off his first loss. Roach masterminded Khan's rise to the top of the junior welterweight division and becoming a 3 time world champion - winning the WBA 'Super', WBA and IBF junior welterweight titles - and overseeing great victories over the likes of Marco Antonio Barrera, Paulie Malignaggi, Zab Judah and Marcos Maidana.
Khan has since left Roach to join up with Virgil Hunter - lifelong trainer of Andre Ward - but British superstar Khan and Filipino superstar Pacquiao struck up a great friendship in the years they spent training together. They spent many days sparring together, and, ahead of Khan's expected May 3 date with pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather (45-0, 26KOs), Roach has revealed sensational details of their sparring sessions.
''Manny and Amir sparred many rounds together at the gym. It was great sparring, great to watch. They both have incredible footwork and handspeed. Amir was only young, but he was still in the process of winning world titles and unifying his division, Manny had the upper hand in experience and ring know how.'' Roach recalls.
''They both went all out, in sparring in my gym we never hold back or go easy. We spar hard. Even though Manny fought at 147lbs and Amir was fighting at 140lbs, usually in the gym Amir was weighing 145-150lbs. He was naturally the bigger guy. At that sort of weight, Amir has never been down before. He never got dropped once in sparring when he was with me. He did great against Manny. At first I was wary of letting him spar Manny, but he begged me to let him and I put him in there, and he did great.''
''When Amir was sparring at 145-150lbs, he was strong, big, powerful, but still had all his speed, and his punch resistance was good. It was when he had to go down to 140lbs and weight drain himself that sometimes his punch resistance was lesser. But he still took shots from people like Maidana and Judah!''
''Manny is a legend in boxing and has had an incredible career, but Amir imposed himself more and more as time went on. Some days Manny got the better of Amir, some days Amir got the better of Manny. But Manny never dropped Amir. Amir dropped Manny 3 times in total, in all the spars we had between them in the gym.''
''I always said there is only 2 guys who have the right style and skills to beat Mayweather - and they are Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan. It will be a great fight.'' he said.
Bwahahah good post. You just made the paklas go from saying that "Khan is no threat since Pac droped Khan in sparring" to "sparring matches don't count".http://i59.tinypic.com/anfwg8.gif

Pretty sure roach saidin a Bscene article that he would pay sparring partners extra if they could drop Manny. He confirmed Khan collected the reward, did he not?
And Khan said he never said that :smashfrea
I'm sure khan had no part in this and it was only his team looking out for his best interest but if your bored he's more for u to read.
LAS VEGAS -- It appears the working relationship between former junior welterweight champion Amir Khan and Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is about to be over. In the aftermath of July's knockout loss to Danny Garcia -- Khan’s second consecutive defeat -- Khan said he would consider replacing Roach in his corner. On Tuesday, Roach said that members of Khan’s team told him the fighter would stay with him only if he agreed to drop Manny Pacquiao and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
“They said ‘Make Amir No. 1, get rid of Manny and Chavez and he will still come back to me,” Roach said. “I said I can’t do that. It’s simple.”
Roach said Khan’s team made the offer twice, first in a face-to-face meeting between Roach and Khan’s manager, Asif Vali and later in a phone call between Roach and Khan’s father, Shah.
Roach says he has no hard feelings for Khan.
“I’m a busy person,” Roach said. “I’ve been with Manny for a long time. Manny is my guy."
I never said I had a video of it. But just an article of roach lying like how he's lying here lmao!!
“If that was true, why would he say to me fire Manny Pacquiao and Chavez Junior and they would keep me?” said Roach.
“Him, his father, his lawyer and his uncle all said that. It had nothing to do with Parkinson’s. Parkinson’s had nothing to do with it. They know that. And I wish them the best of luck.”
And Khan said he never said that :smashfrea
I never claimed that infact that was reply to the poster who asked where from where did Larry copy that article.
Btw where's the video of Khan saying, Roach should Dump Manny for me?

Pieces of the quotes are written by Gareth A Davies, a very respected sports journalist.
yep..........
I don't see what the problem is here, Roach has always said good things about his fighters. Once they leave he doesn't have to worry about hurting their feelings, what is a trainer supposed to say? If Khan did indeed get dropped while Roach was training him Freddie isn't going to put that out in public he knows better.
All that being said I'm kind of torn on this, I'm sure if it happened before someone would have found out about it. Then again... Khan can get hit too hard when they dump water on him and he'd get knocked out so I'm not sure whether its true or not.
