I'm intrigued by this match up and want to see this fight. Anyone else? How do you think this would play out?
I think Shawn demolishes Broner into a TKO. :cool2:
I've developed an impression of him a little bit like a younger Pacman recently.
Please nobody freak out. I'm not talking about Showtime being great like Pac. He's got alot to accomplish before I would mention him in that context.
What I do see is a young, fast, strong guy with alot of determination (and stamina to back it up) that moves around the ring alot on offense and uses his offense for his defense even to the point of being a bit reckless with it.
I think at this point he overwhelms alot of good fighters around his weight class that don't have a plan for that kind of intensity.
That seems like a fair statement. Porter is a bit more (if you understand what I mean) of a boxer in the sense that he simply uses a more conventional style than pac. But that's probably down to porter having a much longer amateur career than pacquiao. He doesn't fight as recklessly as pacquiao but he has decent footwork and keeps his feet planted. He'll no doubt end up being a ppv star.
Porter has got a lot of love based on beating two feather fisted WW. Not saying he is not a really good fighter but he hasn't faced anyone who could hurt him as he comes lunging in with hooks. Don't know if Brook possesses the ability to do so cause I haven't really seen him fight. Styles make fights and porter faced 2 guys he could run through recently. I'm holding back judgment until I see him in with a different syle.
Yeah, this is pretty much my view as well. Brook won't be as easy he isn't feather dusted and he has heart. When you look at his history it ticks all the boxes: good amateur career, great gym (ingles) and good record so far. I think porter can win if he boxes well and doesn't focus too much on a stoppage. This is going to be good because it's a big test in both guys careers. Although I'm slightly favouring porter only because he beat Devon.

Yeah same, porter has some decent skills too. People seem to think he's a brawler but he's got some good skills.

Yep, but tbh I as good as floyd is I wouldn't want to associate myself with him. He is in all honesty a guy who has a history of domestic violence who tries to monopolise the sport.
It sounds strange and it'll probably never happen but if you shut Broner in a gym with hopkins for just 1 hour I guarantee Broner would benefit from it. Imho hopkins can drop bombs of knowledge that mayweather could not.
But I agree with you he gets a lot of unnecessary hate. You are right in saying he doesn't flaunt anymore and it's good to hear that the band camp has lost a few members but it will take time for people to move on. Even though he says he isn't humble you can tell the maidana loss changed him. He doesn't seen to be getting as out if shape as he used to be and he seems a bit more focused. Molina was a rubbish fight but Taylor seems like a good fight to get into the swing of things.
Hopkins does advise broner.
Broner was at Hopkins' last fight showing support
But obviously the clowns on here will continue to hate on broner
Showtime would just flat run over the not-so-mobile, not-that-slick, Broner.
Broner has some heart and is not entirely without skills/speed/power but I think it would be just a whole sh1tload of hard punches comin' at him fast and from all angles non stop until they threw in the brush.
I got Shawn by late tko.

He praises Floyd because Floyd has given him advice
He doesn't flaunt anymore, when Is last time he did that?
He recently said he doesn't mess around like he used to and he got rid of some people in his circle

It's just because of his antics with flaunting money. I don't mind his trash talk, got to sell fights. But tbh his floyd love is a bit annoying. I think if Broner stopped trying to be floyd and developed his own style people would like him. When he keys his hands go he can be pretty exciting tbh.

the hate for broner is clear, yet no-one tells me why he deserves the hate
y'all are a bunch of clowns

I don't want to see this at all. It just doesn't make any sense. Yeah, there's the Ohio angle, but one guy has yet to prove himself above 135, vs. a guy who used to fight at jmw who's now walking through welterweights
Porter beats him worse than Maidana did
Before Porter beat Malinaggi, Broner said he wanted Paulie to win so there would be a rematch
When Porter won, he didn't say sh*t
:lol1:
Broner sure has been quiet like a mouse about Porter
