I feel like Haymon can get hated on this site often about how he protects his fighters, which there is some truth to. But this card this weekend is something that we can all enjoy. Great card of fights, not like the boxing of 2007-2009 I really appreciate the fight cards Golden Boy/Haymon is putting on. I mean Dirrell-Bika? then Wilder fightin a chump but I'd rather he be on there then not at all....Then Brook coming across the Atlantic?! Great card making me excited for Saturdays whereas I remember a few years back I tuned in right before main event time.
Boxing Scene posters actually thanking Al Haymon for a good card? Yeah I doubt that.
They'll beg Arum to steal their money before they'd appreciate a move by Haymon and Co.
dont sound too upset, lol, you do what you do best and go on gobbling on haymans cokk , he is gona save boxing just he saved beyonce knowles career, lol:smashfrea
What's with the Haymon dick sucking?
We're supposed to give him credit for a fight that was mandated by the IBF? FOH. And Dirrell-Bika II? The first one was competitive but still a bit ugly and ended in a draw. The sequel will probably be ugly as well.
After that crap they put on last weekend he gets no pass
How anyone can actually be a fan of a boxing manager is beyond belief lmao.
Haymon is like one of those big time NFL agents that does everything in his power to get his client the most money possible even if that means sitting out for games, is detrimental to the team and hurts the sport as a whole. Funny how there aaren't fans of NFL agents. Only in the whacky world of boxing are there manager/personal advisor cheerleaders!
Thats a great point. You got boys on here fans of promoters, managers, trainers, and S&C coaches.
Thats is insane. Only sport where people have faction of everything and then push a hard line.
The time honored NSB whine of "how can you be a fan of...."
Haymon is like one of those big time NFL agents that does everything in his power to get his client the most money
Wouldn't you agree that's better than king/arum etc etc who steal millions from their fighters?
What!? Chavez getting a 6 million guarantee per fight is stealing? Cotto making 7 million minimum to fight Martinez is stealing?
The only thing retarded is you whining about al in this thread then desperately labelling anyone who didn't do the same as one of his fans because they didn't hate on him like you did.
#1 Al haymon and Showtime defendor right here. If you say anything bad about Showtime he'll come back like, would do the same for HBO? :lol1:
saturdays card was pretty good, the main event was **** but the two fights before that were decent matchups and even the main event featured a world class fighter even if it was kind of an exhibition fight.
nobody said **** when kovalev fought capparello, a guy whos best win is allan green. a lot of hypocrisy on this site.
edit: one of the main reasons boxing fell off is the lack of talent in the HW division, a direct result of potential fighters turning to other sports like basketball and american football. while its less obvious in other divisions it shows there as well. it makes sense, more money, less risk and you can get an education out of it.
so if a guy like haymon and others like him can increase the amount of money fighters are making that will attract more athletes back to this great sport. something that will do boxing good.
not to mention the fact that as a fan of the sport who has seen two of his idols (ali and mcclellan) suffer serious brain damage in the ring im simply happy fighters are getting what they deserve as far as financial compensation. if haymon was around in the 90's perhaps mcclellan wouldnt be broke in addition to being blind, 90% deaf and unable to walk.
lay off dunn, you are the ones who are wrong. more money for the fighters is a good thing. naturally we all want to see great fights too, but nobody said they didnt. you clowns just pretend people do because you have no arguments to support your jealousy based anger over fighters getting the money they deserve.
Stop it. One good fight (Jscobs') doesnt make a whole card "pretty good". There was no reason for Peterson to fight Santana nor was it competitive. And the same goes for the main event.
Wow. Al Haymon is a rock star now. His fans love him no matter what.
It's Floyd-inspired fanaticism unprecedented in boxing. They love everything and everyone associated with him. They hate everything and everyone he hates. He can do no wrong.
I've said this in a previous thread
I'll say it again lol
I don't think any unified or lineal champ has ever fought the 77th ranked or below fighter in a lower weight class.......only then to change the weight to gain an even greater weight advantage
If salka got seriously hurt there would be massive outrage because the hardcore fans spoke so greatly against this mismatch
Just imagine if he had gotten seriously hurt. The commission, Showtime, al haymon and Garcia would have been vilified.
It would have been detrimental to the sport , a huge black eye for boxing. And salka getting seriously hurt was a real possibility. Not only was there a power advantage, add on top of that a skill advantage , a class edge, it could have been even more brutal.
That fight was a disgrace to boxing. And I'm gonna admit it was disappointing to me , as a hardcore true boxing fan, for it to take place.
The commission should never have allowed that fight to happen
And for those saying salka got a payday, salka himself said he was expecting a shot at Figueroa - the champion in his weight class who incidentally has hand issues - that is way more justifiable than jumping up above a weight class to fight a guy who packs power when you yourself have no power.
This is incomparable to Kovalev's fights.
why does the criticism of the kov fight irritate you? you said it was a mismatch.
My problem is that the Kovalev fight did not hurt the sport in any way. Danny Garcia getting paid 600k to fight a sparring partner does.

Reading all of Big Dunn’s posts defending a manager (Al Haymon), I truly believe he is Haymon’s secret lover.
Is Big Dunn a tranny?
your p4p list tells all of us who the tranny is.
This post is so ridiculous and terrible I have to quote it again. Jeez

You're full of crap. Caparello was actually in Kovalevs division..... a top 15 fighter in the division. On top of that, Kovalev didn't get paid $600,000 to fight a guy ranked #77 in the division two divisions below the one hes fighting in.
Yeah..... you're not biased at all! :ugh:
You're really gonna sit here and say you had no problem with the Garcia-Salka card and then complain about Kovalev taking a stay-busy fight for peanuts, against a top 15 fighter...... when he was also the best available opponent? (a fight that didn't even headline the card)
Wow, some people are crazy as hell on here.
Big Dunn celebrates not great fights but great contracts. The excitement he felt when he learned Garcia was getting paid $600k for fighting Salka must have been unreal!
:lol1: :lol1:
How do you think he felt about Rios earning 4 milly against Pac? Excited or no?

Damn man you're just on a roll with these witty remarks! Someone get this guy on Comedy Central!
why waste good material. Carry on. You're the internet winner. hooray!!
