Who are they in your opinion?
This is my list
1-Big George
2-Joe Louis
3-Irish Gerry Cooney
4-Iron Mike
5-Rocky Marciano
6-Sonny Liston
7-Jack Dempsey
8-Smokin Joe
9-Lennox Lewis
10-Tommy Morrison
I've always though Shavers power was a little overrated. I mean don't get me wrong he could punch but I think his power was overrated.
adamek 10 rounds mercy stoppage nothing devastating
arreola 10 round corner mercy stoppage, kept hitting him and nothing happened
sam peter 8 round corner mercy stoppag, kept hitting him and nothing happened
corrie sanders 8 rounds still standing just exhausted
this makes him one of the hardest punchers ever
oh wait found it a 2 round ko over cruiserweight herbie hide. proof the man could punch.
you also forgot his KO of danny "i do funny dances and get knocked out in all my fights" williams
Seriously....who did Vitali Klitschko knock out?

If all the top heavies in history were assigned to punch a target and measure one punch power in terms of lbs of pressure I can't imagine anyone would beat Wladimir in this catagory with the straight right hand.
but before throwing that right hand he would hold, clinch, and healock the target into submission.
I dunno, a top 10 would need some thinking but the top 3 or 4 has got to be:
Foreman
Shavers
Tyson
Liston
Dempsey may get a shout, Louis will be in the top 10, possibly Lennox and Vitali too. Marciano and Frazier most definitely.
On second thoughts, I'll give it a quick go lol see what I come up with:
1. Foreman
2. Tyson
3. Shavers
4. Liston
5. Dempsey
6. Marciano
7. Louis
8. Lennox
9. Frazier
10. Vitali
7-10 can be interchangeable imo
louis and vitali are interchangeable? louis left guys motionless on the canvas after 1 punch. vitali threw 100's of arm punches at his stamina deprived opponents until they collapsed from exhaustion.
you know some idiot is going to say vitali...
It would be impossible to rank them properly but I know there are some names that belong in there without question.
Those are, in no order:
Dempsey
Louis
Marciano
Foreman
Tyson
Morrision
Lewis
Vitali
Wladimir
Right on cue :lol1:
Lennox Lewis
Wladimir Klitschko
Tommy Morrison
Mike Tyson
David Tua
Hasim Rahman
Michael Grant
Shannon Briggs
George Foreman
Chris Arreola
Samuel Peter
Corrie Sanders
Donovan Ruddock
Vitali Klitschko
Riddick Bowe
Deontay Wilder
Bermane Stiverne
Andrew Golota
In no particular order...
These are the hardest punchers this planet has ever produced of all time who were of any serious quality.
There are likely many boxers who could have hit far harder but they were otherwise of too low a skill for it to make any real difference.
For instance, WK's last opponent Leapai might have rivalled many on the list but his offensive skills sucked.

For me the best punchers ever are Mike Tyson and Joe Louis, their bombs were fast, sharp and devastating (f*ckers came in combination too!)
George Forman just tips Earnie Shavers for blunt force heavy handed banging imo but they are the heaviest punchers for me.
Cant be hooped doing a top ten, way to hard but I will say Ike Ibeabuchi has no place on the list - he seems to make the lists all the time here!

Here's my Top 10 in no particular order:
1. George Foreman
2. Mike Tyson
3. Lennox Lennox
4. Rock Marciano
5. Ernie Shavers
6. Ron Lyle
7. Sonny Liston
8. Gerry Cooney
9. Joe Louis
10. Jack Johnson
in order?
that's awfully difficult.
i don't even have the top three worked out in order, though i do have them ranked relatively easily above the rest.
shavers
foreman
and tyson
some other huge hitters in no order:
liston
tua
louis
lewis
wladimir
and here's a lesser tier of puncher who could still really bang with some of the best of them
tommy morrison
donovan ruddock
ronnie lyle
corrie sanders
joe frazier
rocky marciano
max baer
my pick for hardest puncher is probably george foreman. maybe tyson. shavers could possibly hit a heavybag harder than both, but i'm just not sure.
the most dangerous HW i've ever seen was joe louis. second is probably mike tyson. they were polished offensive fighters with devastating power.
shavers and foreman were relatively crude in comparison, especially shavers. foreman did some subtle things in his prime, and was quite crafty in his comeback years.
