No Canelo in December. So who is Cotto fighting next?

I'm assuming that Andy Lee is the guy they are floating around who they can fight at 157lbs catchweight and defend the belt.

I think Floyd will fight cotto for the 147-154-160 belts on 5de mayo weekend at msg,,, Floyd just got a ny license Interesting and i wouldn't fault Cotto for taking another Floyd payday. There would be a couple barriers. One would be that Cotto would lose to Floyd and may think he has a better shot against Canelo. The other would be that HBO has said the have a deal with Cotto for more than just the Martinez fight. HBO has also said they will not deal with Al Haymon fighters anymore. Canelo doesn't have an exclusive deal with Showtime so the fight could easily be made on HBO while Floyd doesn't have that option.

This is not due to the case of the cold war lol its due to each fighters own ulterior motive. Canelo wants the Cotto fight for Cinco De Mayo weekend so he can take it back from Mayweather and only fight that he can beat mayweather with at the moment is the Cotto fight, Cotto is not going to sit around for close to a year before Cinco De Mayo comes so he gonna get a fight in in December. Nothing to do with the so called "Cold War" of boxing. Cotto will probably rematch Trout, that fight will still sell at MSG in NY. Canelo will probably fight Kirkland the only good fight left he hasnt fought at 154, he beat everyone who is anybody at 154 (excluding p.will due to his circumstances) I would love to see a Trout rematch, I hope that's the route he takes. But I don't think that is going to happen as Trout has a fight in August and Cotto is talking about announcing an opponent next week.

People that claim that they're boxing fans don't want the best fight possible this year. :lol1: Marinating isn't a big deal when it's the boxer with the same flag doing it. Casual fans are better than a lot of these hardcore boxer fans in these forums. I think Kirkland is the fight to make...is that bad or easy or whatever your trying to say?:cop:

There is absolutely nobody that Floyd can fight that will be as big as Cotto/Canelo next May. top rank and golden boy got this all worked out. floyd got his promoter license. oscar knows this is the last fight for gb with floyd. they are ready to go to war with floyd on cinco de mayo and cotto/canelo is the only fight that can outdo floyd. as a fan, i want cotto/canelo now. but arum and oscar got this all planned out.
