I know Cotto is now added to the list.... But does anyone have an "official" list?
Quillin, Cotto... Who else?
Inb4 Golovkin isn't a big name, why should King Cotto fight him?
A year? Maybe for the Charlo twins, but I think Andrade is as ready or more for a fight with ginger. At least moreso than angulo
Haven't seen that at 160. Interesting though. I figured Cotto went up to just make history. Didn't know he'd hang around.
Charo guys are at least 18 months away as they haven't even headlined a show yet, let alone hbo, let alone a major fight..
Same goes with Andrade though he is ready, he needs a couple of headlines before lands a major fight.. Similar to when ggg first landed on hbo..sure he was ready to fight serg , etc but hadn't headlined anything, now that he has, he is ready for bigger fights.. Andrade needs to headline some regular hbo
does the chavez pull out count as a duck?
Sturm Quillin and maybe Murray are the worst duckers though
Definitely. He turned down a career payday
Sure duck, IMO
That doesn't warrant saying he's ducking Golovkin simply because you believe he won't fight him. Simply jumping the gun on this especially when you place him in the same list with guys who should be fighting Golovkin and show no interest in doing so.
Fair enough,,
I can tell right now that GGG Fanbase is going to be far more annoying that Mayweather and Pacquiao Fanbase Combined:sad:
This is the stuff that will get people to turn against the guy sadly because fans go TOO FAR with the "HYPE" after him beating...DANIEL GEALE? :nonono:
Some trying to label him to "Greatest Middleweight Ever" and "The Most Feared Fighter Of All Times" already? LMFAO:wtf:
Yeah. Because this thread is so false, right?
No ones ever ducked Golovkin
the most likely really big name to fight him is canelo imo ... that guy has balls. The other most likely really big name to fight him is froch ... reasons same.
I get what both you and Adam are saying, but I don't think Oscar and Chepo want Canelo to fight Gennady anytime soon.
I respect Canelo for fighting the best available, but if we are being honest after the Lara fight they have to avoid that plan of 'fighting the best '.
Let's not forget, Canelo is Golden Boys star. If Gennady puts him to sleep (which is very likely) then they won't make the fight, and I don't expect them to.
Canelo Cotto is competive. That's a good match up.
Why should they avoid the plan? There's not one guy who he can realistically fight who moves as much as Lara. Styles make fights. He beat Lara in a very competitive fight.
He was Golden Boys star before Lara and it was also very likely he was going to get embarrassed in a 12-0 ud. He beat the guy so why would he go back to fighting bums.

Canelo fights top guys,, not gonna dispute that, but their is a difference between being embarrassed and being physically damaged... A rigo or pernell will embarrass you but guys like Tito and ggg damage fighters

Andrade and charo are still at least a year away from landing big fights..
Cotto and Kirkland have both been mentioned but at 160.. Floyd ain't gonna rematch him because canelo won't ever be able to make 152 again..
Canelo will be at mw within the next year, and i highly doubt he fights ggg.. He will target cotto, Kirkland, quillen..

He likely would, but that's not a fact. Your simply jumping to assumption right now ignoring the fact he just fought a guy that was seriously going to embarrass him.

Correct me if I'm wrong, the JMW limit is 154 right?
Canelos last 2 fights have been at 155. Isn't that MW? What did Cotto weigh against Martinez? 155 or 156? I really don't recall.
Oh, I see you want someone to get technical and nitpick. Very well.

in one I see a weightclass being mentioned. in another I don't. not Jr middleweight, or mw.. So as far as I know, he's still a jr mw. Unless you know something about him moving up a weight class that others might not

off topic: How this reputation thing works here? Yesterday I had two grren and 88 point and today a lots of read and -10560 or something like that. WTF is this? I'm not worry about it honestly, but still don't understand.
What's left? Plenty. A future bout with kirkland, possibly. A bout with Cotto, Chase a Floyd rematch because you know Canelo would want that payday and then there's up and comers still out there. The Charlo´s or maybe even a fight down the line with Andrade. Those are all legit options

Based on the fact that ggg should seriously hurt canelo, same reason cotto doesn't want to fight him.. Ggg can ruin a fighter much like how Tito use to do
Yes, Golovkin is definitely a bigger puncher than Lara, Trout or May but otherwise his style is better for Canelo than Lara's, Trout's May's. Much better.
Canelo counters very well and Golovkin is there to hit. Maybe I'm biased because I admit it that Canelo is one of my favourites right now, but for me it's an 50-50 fight.

What is left for canelo to do at 154.. He already beat trout and Lara and unless there is a Floyd rematch there really isn't any major fights for him at 154. Besides he didn't even make 154 last time out.. I think he will be at 160 sooner than later..
Maybe calling him a duck is alittle too strong, I just highly doubt he ever fights ggg

Why? He is one of the most bravest fighters in the recent years when it comes to chosing opponenets.
GBP, Oscar and his team said him "Don't fight Trout" but Canelo said "I wanna fight with Trout" Same goes to the Mayweather and the Lara fights. If they depended on his team he would be still an undefeated but unproven fighter, but he chose an other way and it seems like he's right. So, since he fought with Trout, Lara and May though he haven't got to I don't know why you think he will duck Golovkin.
