GGG has so much experience, that I think he's ready for the elite in that division. Unfortunately for Cotto, he owns one of the belts at 160, so a match up with GGG might be inevitable unless he moves back down to face Canelo which is what I think he should do. Ward vs GGG is THE fight to make.

Perez is a major disappointment! Maybe not on the same level as Solis was, but there is still time. GGG was impressive! Sure Geale was perfect for him but GGG did what he was supposed to do and did it impressively.

The scary thing was that Geale was so damn confident coming into the ring and in the first round; it wasn't false bravado, he knew he had to skills to hang with world class fighters. By the third Geale had that "I don't believe this" look on his face. Making a world-class operator like Geale come out and go for absolute broke after two rounds... man. GGG is going to be the most avoided guy in boxing after this.

Geale didn't quit! Watch him leave the ring then walk the isle and watch his legs and his overall movement. He got rocked and remained dazed from stating "no more" until......................I don't know but he was not in control of himself and did the right thing for himself & family and basically "retired"! His eyes were glazed over and kept looking downward! When a fighter can't maintain a straight ahead focused look their rocked. Great ref ( Mikie Ortega) yeah yeah.....................my friends son, knew him when he was a little boy did a great job. He kept an eye right on Geale's face and read his expressions properly. The eyes tell you everything in boxing. Ray. Well like I said, I don't like to call any boxer a quitter so I was hesitant to say that word. I will say he got up really fast, and usually when a guy is that hurt, they don't get up that easy. Either way, I can't fault him and when you look at the fight he didn't take that much damage really. It was just a few huge shots that ended his night.

Perez looked badly out of shape to be honest. His corner was asking him to do all kinds of stuff and he didn't change anything. He's just fat and out of shape to be honest. GGG is the scariest man in boxing. 3 rounds was a shocker, and I never call any boxer a quitter but I think Geale didn't want to continue. He felt those shots and just decided that's not what he wanted in his life. Geale was out from that shot. He said that he shook his head because he had no clue where he was and who the ref was talking to him.

Please give your opinion on that excellent Roy Jones Jr. fight this weekend. I didn't watch it man, I don't know if I can bring myself to watch that. It was like watching Chavez Sr late in his career, or Duran. It's just not the way I want to remember Roy.

I think half the factor that freaks his opponents out in there is Golovkin makes it appear like he is not even trying hard. Just going about his business in a calm/relaxed manner. You see these guys fighting so hard to keep him off and he is there la-dee-daa'ing. I think that is what causes their panic half the time.

Not that I disagree with anything, but the bolded part is so true. He's one of the best, if not the best, fighter around today at cutting off the ring. It's almost scary how much confidence he has in his ability. Have you even seen someone take a flush (and a solid) right hand to the jaw and in the same motion knock the other guy out? It is really incredible. We are watching something special with him. But I feel he should stay at MW. Good observation, he was hit flush, and still had the power to KO Geale. That's pretty amazing.

Some really good fights and observations this weekend. I will go over only the HBO card. Jennings vs Perez This one started out slow, got better in the middle rounds and then tapered off once again. I have to give Jennings credit for taking up boxing at 25 and him doing as well as he's doing. You can tell though that he hasn't boxed for a long time though. I hate watching a big man, with the athletic skills he has, not use the jab. He paws with it, and is actually a better inside fighter than he is an outside one. He has this awkward crab like stance he gets into, with his back foot "in a bucket" (sideways) and looks to only land the hard right hand. He limits himself in what he does, and also pulls straight back with his hands up looking to counter. Just bad habits, from a young HW and I know it's hard to ask him to be better considering he joined boxing so late. He is an excellent athlete and comes in shape to fight. There's nothing I see that will threaten Klitchko to be honest, and I don't see him as the next American HW champ. Perez just came in out of shape IMO. His body looked soft and he fights in spurts because of his conditioning. You can tell he's more skilled than Jennings, but that doesn't matter if you don't throw punches. Lazy fighter, out of shape and he just didn't make the fight. Regardless of the point taken away, I didn't think he deserved to win the fight period. Golovkin vs Geale Message to Miguel Cotto, do not sign to fight GGG. This man is getting better and better and he couldn't have a better trainer than Able Sanchez in his corner teaching him that "Mexican" style. Believe it or not, he can do better, he can move his head more and take his head off line when punching but holy sh1t he hits hard. He cuts off the ring the way you are supposed to (Canelo take notes) and goes to the body as well as he does to the head. Geale was doing well with his movement but if you don't have the power to discourage him, he will walk through you and KO you as we saw. I can't remember watching someone so relaxed in there like GGG. He wastes no energy, takes his time and really picks his shots well. He doesn't even seem one bit nervous, and has this confidence about him that's almost scary. I don't see Canelo or Cotto beating him, Chavez Jr is a better fight because of the chin and power but he loses as well. Obviously we want to see Andre Ward vs GGG and that's the big challenge for him because he does seem to have issues with movement and he's never fought a boxer like Ward. Other fights The Oscar Valdez and Benavidez Jr fights were what they were, easy set up fights for these young prospects. The guy Valdez fought had an iron chin, tough veteran and I thought it was good work for Valdez. I thought he showed some inexperience though in really trying to go for the KO and he should have just boxed him more. Jose Benavidez is one talented kid, wow he has it all. He knocked his guy down with a counter left hook over the top that he turned at the last second kind of like the Ali phantom punch against Liston. He just needs to stay more active, and hopefully the injury bug is gone, because he has all the makings of being a world champ....easily. Overall Saturday was utterly disappointing. As excited as I was to see Jennings/Perez, thats how much I was disappointed in that fight. Didnt expect anything more from the Golovkin fight. Friday was an incredible night of boxing, Saturday was terrible. HBO really should consider expanding these 1 and 2 fight cards. On a side note as well, Max Kellerman is the most annoying person in the sport. I wish he would just shut the fuk up.
