Great point ray. Floyd has to fight a baldomir fight every second.
And vs a ring cutter with a jab and body shots and massive power ,
Floyd takes a nap
Floyd has quickness still but has no power to keep GGG honest. Floyds little right hand lead off the ropes will get him knocked out.
A few years ago with younger legs I think Floyd could give GGG a better test but he still didn't have the punch to keep GGG concerned.
You see GGG get hit with obvious shots at times but he has gauged his opponents power and is prepared to be hit. You saw Geale hit him with a decent shot but it had little to no effect with the right that he launched a split second latter.
Punchers accept the fact that when they move forward they will get hit but if they feel they can't be hurt they get the fight over and done with, as they should!
Ray.
Yeah floyd gets hit and pressured by maidana and cotto. GgG tears him out the frame.
Skills wont pay those bills. GGG has a nice jab walks guys down and has great power and body shots.cuts the ring beautifully.
Floyd gets wrecked .
Funny thing is at this moment in time GGG doesn't need Floyd, Floyd needs him.
GGG is on a good path and Mayweather is only going to decline now, no way in hell he takes a fight with GGG, he'd snap Mayweather with even sponges on his fists!
there was a time when I believed that GGG making or trying to make 154 lb would be detrimental for him but it will not because his power is terrifying and it will transfer with ease, probably look better against smaller guys. Mayweather would do well to last half a fight with him.
I thought Pacroid was better then Floyd? (???????? If that's the case why aren't we talking about Pacroid fighting this guy???? Oh yeah Pacroid can't juice so he's only fighting against guys that don't require testing. ..
Go and watch WWE.
GGG at 70% destroys Floyd in about 3-4 rounds. I don't even think you can realistically argue a case for Floyd if GGG makes the weight healthy.
And if you're gonna try then you better find some hypothesis to where you can logically argue the fact that a far less talented and less powerful Maidana gave Floyd hell, but the superior fighter in every way possible GGG won't be able to. There's none.
TBH, I don't even think the Floyd who fought Maidana could beat Thurman or Porter. Which is why he's fighting Maidana in a rematch.
Gennady has to wear 20oz winning gloves or there is no fight. Also since gennady has a high streak of KO's he must be drug tested. Floyds Health comes first. TMT wants to ensure the utmost safety for lil floyd.

Meanwhile Manny is coming off a win over a top 5 P4P fighter and your boyfriend is still fighting C level brawlers. He undefeated doe.

Floyd has the skills and experience too beat GGG, but I don't think Floyd can evade ggg power for 12 rounds. I would lean towards ggg in that fight. he would be the strongest and biggest guy Floyd has ever faced. maidana, cotto, canelo are all smaller than golovkin. golovkins size, jab and power should be too much for Floyd too handle.
Floyd is 38 - 39.
Plus he would be fighting a naturally bigger man, he would lose, and no shame in losing to a much bigger guy, afterall this is no longer prime Mayweather.
I'm not talking about the Floyd that fought Hatton, way too small. I'm thinking the Floyd that fought Shane or even most recently Cotto/Canelo. I meant three years ago in terms of his reflexes. He was the same size as now, but his reflexes were still cat like. He's slipped a bit, but still great.
Ah OK. Yeah, I like the Floyd that fought Shane the best. Physically strong enough to clinch up with GGG, and try and tire him out, while surviving a bit, and also still fresh.
If GGG can make the weight without getting weight drained, I wouldn't object to the fight. Unfortunately there's no way to tell unless he tries it. I would recommend a catch weight of like 157-158 instead of 154-155.
You have to understand: Unlike Floyd-joys, my concern isn't Floyd's squeaky clean record. Its the fact that GGG could potentially ruin himself by dropping a weight class.
Nice to see you're still the exception! :fing02:
He's gotten MUCH physically stronger recently.
There's a stark contrast between the guy that fought Hatton, and the Floyd you see now. Floyd that fought Hatton and ODHLYA would get MAN HANDLED by GGG. The guy today could do a decent job of surviving for a bit longer.

golovkin has been a middleweight for a decade now.
why starve him down to 155 lbs?
you're really just asking if he can make the weight and be healthy.
if he's healthy, he's knocking floyd out. floyd mayweather in 2014 has old legs. he ends up on the ropes against lesser pressure fighters. golovkin would knock him into next week.
I'm a Floyd fan, but GGG beats Floyd at this point in their careers. Not because he's more skillful, but Floyd's age and he has slipped slightly in terms of athleticism. Had this been Floyd from, say, three years ago I'd give Floyd the edge because he'd still have the speed, timing, and stamina to deal with GGG for a full 12 rounds. Floyd's a little guy (height and size wise) and GGG is a beast. If he punishes those larger guys at Middleweight, he will wreck Floyd's tiny frame. At this point in his career, Floyd doesn't have the reflexes to avoid the sustained, intelligent onslaught Triple G will dish out. He can handle a fighter like Maidana but that comparison is really irrelavant. Maidana is certainly a big puncher he and Floyd are relatively the same size (a power that Floyd is used to dealing with, a la Shane Mosley) and I would't say he's a smarter fighter than GGG.
If GGG can make the weight COMFORTABLY, I say TKO in 6-8 rds with size, power, and effective pressure.

Small welter is pushing it obviously. But they would have a point. Floyd is no middleweight and GGG really could ruin himself by trying to make weight. He should focus on fighting top middleweights and if he runs out of challenges, he should move up to 168. Obviously, he should test the waters first before fighting the best fighter in the division.
But of course, like many other fighters, he wants the Floyd lottery ticket. I mean even Hopkins said he'd move down in weight to fight him. That is ridiculous.
It really isnt a wild stretch for the MW champ to come down and fight the LMW champ is it. Forget the names involved, forget its floyd....you can do it.
