Doug Fischer said just recently that he rewatched Floyd vs. Maidana and said he could see it scored as a Maidana win.
Lederman about a month ago said the best score, the closest one in his view, was the draw.
Stephen Breadman Edwards scored it a Maidana win.
These guys didn't have to air these thoughts. I think they loved Maidana's old school, La Motta type approach and performance. But also they want Floyd to fight more impressively, throw harder, to win by more rounds.

Wingy Boxing

Granted, 80 some percent or the media called it a Floyd win. But Doug Fischer, Lederman and Stephen Edwards are three of the biggest names in the boxing media. And T Street and Wingy are probably the two biggest boxing youtubers(Die Hard Floyders Dwyer and Tha Boxing Voice scored it around 9-3 for Floyd.)
I think the stage is set for close scores Sept. 13. The public scored it close to a draw and has pushed guys like Fischer and Lederman(and probably the judges on Sept. 13th.) to look at the fight again and score it for the active, aggressive guy who landed more punches. Which means Floyd will have to do more to win e.g. Toney vs Jirov.
how great is floyd when his best win isnt even a legit hall of famer and he has yet to face a legit HOF fighter who was in their prime?
Who qualifies as a legit HOF that Floyd could have fought and didn't??
And please don't hit me with Manny Pacquiao. That has been debated ad nauseam.
So who were/are these "legit HOF" that Floyd hasn't fought?
Beating an undefeated CANELO, CORRALES and HATTON is as solid as they come. Those three had a combined record of 123-0 before fighting Floyd.
Floyd beat HOF guys like Mosley, DLH, JMM and Cotto.
He beat another HOF, who may have been past prime, but still was WORLD CHAMPION and undefeated in his weight class in GENARO HERNANDEZ.
I haven't even mention SOLID guys like Zab Judah and studs like Maidana and Guererro. Oh yea, he beat Jose Castillo twice.
No one currently or recently has a better resume than FLoyd. He has earned the right to call himself TBE. The man is 46-0 and ppl still want to disrespect him. I would have thought the CANELO DOMINATION would have quieted every hater for good.
Haven't heard Fischer say that and since there's no source posted I'll assume it's bullsh1t.
Especially considering I know for a fact that Lederman said Floyd won as did Wingyboxing.
Anyone that thinks Dougie "ponytail" Fischer is unbiased towards Floyd Mayweather is NEW to the sport of boxing.
I used to do a little beat writing for HBO Boxing, Maxboxing and Blacksportsonline.com back in the day (nearly a decade ago). Dougie has been hating on Floyd since before he and Steve Kim had that show on maxboxing.
I would go back and forth with Doug Fisher regarding Mayweather. He ragged on Mayweather like a heartbroken teenage girl that lost her virginity to the wrong guy.
He and Brian Kenny swore Mayweather would NEVER fight Ricky Hatton. LMAOO!
Dougie has been schooled on the greatness of Floyd Mayweather plenty of times but he's a stubborn SOB. Props to Dougie though for making a name for himself in sports media.
However, anything Dougie Fisher says about Floyd should be taken with a grain of salt. I bet he still thinks Spadafora beats Floyd because of that sparring session in the 90s.
When are ppl gonna learn? FLoyd is still undefeated. He's a top 10 boxer of all time. His credentials speak for themselves. TBE!

Khantards desperately tried to discredit Maidana lmfao.
Why do people on here name call so much? Why is there just not regular boxing talk with out all the dumb name calling?

So confused. The thread title says that Fischer watched the fight again and said Maidana won, but an "apparent" quote from Fischer states he "could see" it being scored for Maidana. So which is it? Did he say Maidana won or did he say he COULD SEE the fight being scored for maidana?
It always happens though, especially with the bigger named athletes. And a lot of these so-called journalists aren't that professional.
But yeah, when Floyd blasts them to their face, it almost always gets under their skin. You saw very quickly how an old guy in Larry Merchant couldn't maintain his professionalism after Floyd put him on blast insulting him to his face.
Then you see the flip side of the coin, when Floyd blasted Elie Sechback to his face about 'hating' and since then Sechback has been calling Floyd the greatest boxer that ever lived.
I don't understand what is so hard to believe that if you treat reporters like sh*t, like Floyd does, that will backfire. You want reporters on your side at all times. For Floyd, I understand what drove him to behave like he does with reporters. But in MLB, NBA, NFL, your behavior towards reporters is very important for your team, and for the media.
Floyd has burned a lot of bridges with reporters, but at the same time, they were the one's who started it, with being overly critical of him. He still should have kept his composure and try to be as nice as possible. You could tell no one in his team tells him how to behave, he is surrounded by yes men who probably tell him everything he does is justified.
There are a lot of Doug Fischer's out there who would jump on the chance to insult Floyd. While Pacquiao is a very nice guy to reporters, they will jump at the chance to defend him 'til death. It's how it works. I guarantee you the PED drama of 2009-2012, would have been a whole lot different if it had been Floyd being accused of using PED's and saying no to OST for a Pac fight. It's not because Floyd is black, it's because of his behavior.
I had a draw
Floyd did squat for the first 6 rounds. I had it 4-2 at that point with possibly being 5-1 but gave a swing round to floyd. People give all swing rounds to floyd which isnt fair you gotta split them.
I had a 6- 6 draw at at best for floyd at worst maidana by 1.
Floyd didnt win though imo.he did enought to even it out possibly, but no way he won that fight.
Citation needed.
A reporter is supposed to not give a sh*t about what a fighter thinks about his articles; that's a conflict of interests. Big ups to Fischer for having balls and being his own man.

Yea these clowns act as if Floyd pays them the only thing he does is look at you as suckers in buying his crappy fights
Yeah guys don't let their hands go enough vs Floyd..
I was very disappointed in ghost, Ortiz, canelo because they hardly let their hands go..
Your simply not going to outbox Floyd, I don't care if your ward, Hopkins, rigo..
Floyd has the best boxing skills in all of boxing... Jmm is a p4p guy and Floyd whitewashed him because jmm tries to set traps, counters etc.. Floyd is too good for that stuff... To beat Floyd you gotta make him fight, gotta let your hands go a lot, and dare to be great
I agree.. with guerrero tho i think he had the right gameplan in mind thats why he challenged floyd to go toe to toe but was just not good enough to corner floyd neither strong enough to maul him anyways. The problem with ortiz was mostly mental, his trainer had the right gameplan too not surprisingly he is robert garcia's brother, they both knew roughing floyd was the way to go..with canelo, lol....nevermind..
Actually it's very well known that he and Floyd don't get along. Some incident happened a long time ago in an interview.
As a boxer, the last thing you wanna do is piss off a reporter. Reporter's articles and thoughts are sensitive to how the fighter treats them/acts in public. Floyd pissed of Doug, but he calmed down in the last 3 years. If you saw Doug's stuff 3-4 years ago, you'd think Floyd raped him. Floyd is notorious for making reporters go against him with his attitude.
The thing is, Floyd doesnt get along with any reporter, writer, etc who doesnt kiss his azz or throw him softball and/or pre agreed upon questions. Its no coincidence the only site he gives exlusives to is Fhype.
I'm sorry, as good as Maidana fought I can't see how you score the fight for him. 8-4 or 7-5 I get, maybe a draw if you give Maidana too much credit. I thought Mayweather clearly did enough to win.
Floyd had put himself too much in the hole to have won that one. Maidana gassed a bit in the 2nd half and Floyd did better .... Maidana over Floyd 7-5.
I think a score of Mayweather or Maidana winning 115-113 or a 114-114 draw is acceptable scorecards, same with Canelo vs. Lara but at least in we're going to Mayweather/Maidana fight again.
9-3 is a bit extreme don't you think? Where did you get that from?
Maybe you don't know that check hooks is a Pacfart. Him and his ilk get some kind of orgasm bashing/hating Floyd and kissing Pac's a$$. You'd rather be surprised that he gave 3 rds to May. That's a little miracle.
This fight wasn't close
I watched it live and scored it 9-3 Maidana
I watched it later and scored it 8-4 Maidana and thats the way I see the fight to this day
People that think Floyd won are the same people that thought Garcia beat Herrerra
9-3 is a bit extreme don't you think? Where did you get that from?
What is Floyd Mayweather's real boxing record?
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/.a/6a00d8341c630a53ef014e8930ad01970d-pi
I strongly feel he lost against Marcos Maidana and Jose Luis Castillo despite him saying,
"Go on YouTube and watch the fight on mute."
I also feel he got a draw against Oscar De La Hoya in 2007, hence talks of a rematch in 2008.
Vote and discuss, fellas. What should Mayweather's record really be, IN YOUR OPINION?
