emanuel steward once said that gerald mclellan had the best chin he had ever seen. i read it in an interview from him.
he said that g-man and tommy hearns were sparring and at one point tommy hearns hit g-man with a flush straight right and g-man simply walked through it. i dont think they were wearing headgear either
Damn man let him beat a current champion 1st
he would have f#cking croaked martinez, larrbear. martinez' people avoided that fight like the plague. dibella said in an interview that his fighter didn't need to be fighting a puncher like that at his age. he literally said it.
He walked through them in the sense he was not wobbled, rocked or visibly hurt and kept coming.
He had brain trauma before those fights. He clearly had signs of brain damage years back.
Its mandatory for a fighter who suffers a K.O/TKO loss to go to hospital to get checked out, even those that don't but in a tough fight usually go for precautions.
Ouma getting checked out doesn't take away the fact he gave GGG all he could handle. It doesn't suddenly erase the fact a career 154lb journeyman gave him hell for 10 rounds in a fight he barely trained for. I know Golovkids like to pretend this fight didn't happen though and hes suddenly this renewed monster under Abel Sanchez. Still the same limited hypejob he was back then.
Milking the weakest middleweight division ever. There is naff all special about GGG outside of his power which is yet to be proven against a middleweight who can take a punch.
not visibly hurt? he took two knees and was counted out in the benn fight. he collapsed in the freaking ring, dude. he was never the same. benn caused a f#cking brain bleed.
you just need to stop talking about that fight, because frankly i don't think you've even seen it. it's insulting to a man who almost f#cking died

Prime McClellan beats the sh*t out of GGG for aslong as it lasted which probably wouldn't be very long.
Bigger, faster, more powerful, more proven & just down and outright a far better boxer and fighter than GGG
I seriously wouldn't give GGG a punchers chance. G-Man walked through Jackson & Benns best shots without flinching.
this is six years after the benn fight. mcclellan was stopped after he collapsed. he lost consciousness, and was stretchered to a hospital. they removed a blood clot from his brain. he is seriously brain damaged to this day.
he walked through the shots without flinching, though.
that's some of the dumbest crap i've ever heard, dan.
Having headaches after a fight is common. He walked through their best shots.
GGG got the hide beaten out of him by Kassim Ouma and contemplated retirement lol
Same GGG who looked awfully average against Obama. Do you know what McClellan would of done to a fighter of that guys caliber? Yep you guessed it another K.O1 win
GGG is so overrated and it makes me laugh nobody can see it. He just stalks 154lb journeymen and beats them down. It makes me laugh people hype this guy as a monster. Hes a fairly above average, highly limited pressure fighter with decent power and nothing more. Its an effective style and nothing more. He is a piss poor version of Duran offensively without about 1/10th if that of the ability defensively and he cant transition.
Prime G-Man K.Os all of todays bum ass middleweights. Every last one! Utter scrubs in that division who would be journeymen at best in McClellan's era, that is a fact.
Someone tell me what is he going to do in order to beat a prime McClellan? Put it this way, f*ck styles nobody, NOBODY who struggles to get by Kassim Ouma is hanging with The G-Man. Most these GGG fans won't of even seen McClellan fight lol
I'm not upset about GGG just the hype and ignorance knocks me sick. Lol @ anybody who thinks this guy beats McClellan in his prime.
It would look just like G-Man vs Mugabi, another limited slugger with power
having headaches months / years after a fight is not normal, dude. you clearly don't know much about mcclellan's career.
you said that mcclellan "didn't even flinch" in a fight that almost killed him, and from which he never recovered. he almost f#cking died. he can no longer walk, talk right, hear, see, or think clearly.
you just can't be taken seriously on the subject after you say that. it's monumentally stupid.
ouma also spent several days in the hospital after the golovkin fight. "beat the hide out of him," lol. good lord, this is some fanboy nonsense.
i think mcclellan beats golovkin. he's longer, faster, has the power, and the chin. you still made yourself look like a fool when you said that mcclellan walked through punches without flinching in a fight that nearly killed him.
fanboy bias. who knows where it comes from.

without flinching?
hello?
benn almost killed mcclellan...
he also had chronic headaches after the jackson fight, and many attribute it to bringing about the end of his career along with the benn fight.
the lenght and speed of mcclellan would give golovkin issues, but your so quickly dismissing golovkin's chances, and saying that he "didn't even flinch," in a fight athat almost killed him, speaks to your hatred of golovkin.
what did golovkin do to you anyway, bro? did a ruskie bone your girl :lol1:?
McClellan has a lot of early KO wins on his record but didn't fare so well against those that hit him back. You can be sure Golovkin would do that, with a lot of power, not an easy guy to hit either.
So Julian Jackson didn't hit him back?? He lost 3 fights. 2 in the beginning of his career and War to Benn. How did he not "fair so well when he got back"? Maybe you mean he didn't fair so well when he got hit...IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD??
Steward's most talented fighter vs. the most feared man in boxing today. Who takes it, and why?
Advantage has to be given to the G-Man. He's faced top-quality opposition and GGG's best opponent to date has been Macklin (and soon Geale).
Can G-Man take GGG's punches? He took some monsters so I think it would take more than one shot to turn this fight into GGG's favor.
I think GGG is much better than what his detractors say ... but ultimately he hasn't fought against enough top-quality opponents to put him on the same playing field as McClellan, Benn, let alone Hagler or Monzon.
