Flat footed, telegraphs his punches, cant cut the ring and doesnt bring anything Cotto has never seen before. I think Cotto wins by TKO and dismantles Canelo.
Incredible how overvalued Cotto has become off the hollow Martinez win. Cotto is easy to lay hands on and he won't be able to withstand Canelo's combinations and, more specifically, body punches. A prime Cotto withered under Marg's assault, he even struggled with a blind Marg, a nearly retired Cotto isn't going to be able to hang with a guy like Canelo that has both stamina and strength. At this point in his career, he just doesn't have the ability to withstand a guy that can bring that much relentless pressure. Easy money for Alvarez.
Agreed. My thoughts exactly. Thank you for expressing it so well.
Canelo's body punches would cripple Cotto if he stands and fights.
It will be a good scrap, I do believe that Cotto brings more to the table and will be victorious with a TKO win over Canelo.
But it will be a great fight.
canelo proved more with angulo and lara then cotto did with bum rodriguez and crippled maravilla.
Here:
Rodriguez > the version of Angulo that fought Canelo
Maravilla > Lara any day
can you post that clip when cotto gets tagged by corley i think and starts dubsteppin? please post it up.
No need to... if you didn't read my reply then you have been miss informed.
At 15, after an amateur boxing record of 44-2, he got a professional, do your homework and don't propagate a lying myth, like I say he ain't $h1t my question was answered last saturday, he ain't $h1t and you don't have to use 100% your brain to see it, leonard, hearns, hagler, napoles, zarate, barrera, marquez are great, ginger ain't $h1t...
I always get a kick out of posters calling professional Boxers bums/****. It's so easy getting to and fighting at the elite level. It comes as no surprise since you picked Lara to school and humiliate Alvarez so you'll settle for downplaying his success, while at the same time your ****ting on the fighter you talked up so much before the fight.

your hate for canelo only makes you look foolish. and your post makes no sense.
you forgot to mention that cotto had a amateur record while canelo didnt. canelo started at age 15 with zero experience. Canelo had to learn and yes even at 18 canelo would of done better than cotto. so like you posted up some names i will too canelo fought cintron, baldomir, ndou, mosley, lopez, trout. what up then? you welcome AGAIN......

Canelo is taking a good stand wanting to fight the best and not taking stupid rod salka fights. Canelo wanted Cotto but he chose Martinez. I dont see any other destination for these two except May 2015. But then again I wouldn't be surprised if he takes on Delvin Rodriguez super clone Rubio.
Canelo will not beat Cotto anytime soon. Cotto's a bad dude right now. His confidence is through the roof. Not to mention too fast, and just too good for Saul Alvarez. Canelo has 3 losses in my book now. Trout, TBE, Lara. I would love for Cotto to make it 4.
Has a lot to do with the fact that most picked Trout to beat Canelo, many picked Lara to not only win but do it impressively, some even by schooling. So the only thing one is forced to do is commend Canelo in coming out victorious. That's the only logical thing to do but many would rather not go that route.
The people who picked Trout and Lara can make a really strong case, especially for dirty judging. The ones who picked Martinez can only say he was a cripple even though he ran across the ring and didn't get any knee surgeries or MRI's after the fight.
It's not looking bad when you have a tough, close fight with a good fighter. Mayweather made Canelo look bad. The other guys had tough fights with Canelo. Anytime you fight the type of fighters Canelo has faced, you'll have tough moments. It definitely won't be easy. Cotto is a perfect example of this. He fought Trout and Mayweather back to back just like Canelo did and we all saw the result. Even at his best, Cotto had tough fights with Clottey and Mosley. That didn't make him a bum or hype job. People have to understand you're not going to blow out all your opposition when you step up in class.
It's like me saying Cotto fought Mosley, Gomez, Margarito, Jennings, Clottey and Pacquiao. He had tough fights with 4 of 6. He's a bum/hypejob. Doesn't that sound ridiculous.
Trout, Mayweather, Lara and Angulo do not have similar styles, you guys say so yourself. All it does is solidify my belief that Canelo can only handle mindless come forward brawlers, he is a counter-puncher by definition. That is why he looks bad against different styles, because he is one dimensional, he will lose to any top tier fighter.
You don't need punch stats to see who did better against Mayweather. Landing slightly more on Trout isn't really a big deal, it was a bad night for Cotto. The problem is Canelo has had 3 of his last 4 fights be "bad nights" but for some reason it's okay for him to struggle but if anyone else does they are no good, shot or a bum.

Good chin not so much when he got level and tagged by Jose Cotto.

Canelo brings youth, grit, power and a good chin. I think it may be a competitive fight the first five or so rounds but after that the youth in Canelo will take over and break down Cotto.

cotto would throw and land his bread and butter left hook and it would be lights out.
