Al Haymon fighters. Do you people not follow the sport? :-)
Anyway, I don't think Herrera would get slaughtered, he's awkward and tricky. Solid chin and has never been stopped despite being in with the likes of Provodnikov and Mayfield.
Regardless, how do you think Algieri fares?
Both are terrible fights.
If Al Haymon fighters can't fight TR fighters then there's no point saying the Cold War is over.
u want pacquiao/harrera? thats a horrible fight, harrera would get slaughtered.
I'd rather Porter/Pacquiao or Khan or even Brook if he manages to win
Al Haymon fighters. Do you people not follow the sport? :-) Brook is a good shout if he wins but then I'm sceptical as to whether Hearn would take the fight.

we should be getting Cotto v Alvarez and Pacquiao v Herrera next.
The two best fights that can be made without Haymon involved at 155lbs and 140lbs.

Just as long as Cotto-Canelo isn't at 160
Would be a shame for the sport
Why? Clearly Canelo will be moving up and if he beats Cotto then it lines up him for a fight with GGG. Makes perfect sense. He was a 171lbs last night. He needs to move up. And for those who say he won' t fight him, he has fought everybody that has been asked of him!
He may not win but would be better fight then anybody GGG has fought so far. And to be honest, GGG doesn't have any top fights like Canelo has already went through. A lot of people think it would be a blowout but it could be very interesting as Canelo has a good offense and better defense and a chin to boot.
Lara and Canelo would be like Ward vs GGG. We are yet to see how GGG will perform against a top boxer who is at the top of there game like Ward as the 160 division is weak now.
Time will tell us what is what.
You know all those are Al Haymon fighters, not possible.
Herrera beat Garcia. Only 12.5% scored it to Garcia. It is what it is. I think he beats Algieri too, comfortably.
No idea.
They're all Haymon fighters.
I don't know about that, I thought it was just Floyd ducking Pacquiao, now you don't think Haymon would allow any of his fighters to fight Pacquiao?
Haymon isn't putting his guys in to get embarrassed by Herrera again. In fact, he's not putting his fighters in with anyone remotely decent right now.
There's something going on behind the scenes, Floyd aside all we're seeing is mismatches lined up for Al Haymon fighters on GBP cards.
I wish that weren't true, but it does kinda look that way.
I like Herrera and wish him well. But a Pacquiao fight would be a PPV dud. And if you compare it to Algieri, all you have done is list two fights that will be PPV flops. Plenty of good fights (Broner, Matthysse, Garcia II, etc.) for Herrera at 140 that don't even involve the "cold war".

As to PPV flops, I care more about the fight but Arum's main income is coming from the site fees at the Venetian.
Either way, Pacquaio-Herrera being the best fight to make if the "Cold War" being over is depressing. Doesn't even seem any point in it being "over" in that case.
I don't like the Algieri fight. I don't think he's earned his stripes and I'm not convinced he won. The boxing media scored it an average of 114-112 to Provo, with 54%-46%.

17% isn't much either tho. 70% is conclusive. Regardless, the thread isn't about Fanny Garcia.
Herrera is a better opponent than Algieri imo, more experienced, more intelligent, able to fight on the front-foot and the backfoot. He would beat Algieri imo, comfortably.
No but 17 + 12 eqaulling 30 is.
70% is hardly conclusive, atleast not to claim robbery it's not.
99% of people picking Pacquaio over Bradley is what you call conclusive.
Also, the majority of that 70% were close cards and there were a whole lot of swing rounds in the fight.
Point being, an obvious close fight that could have gone either way that Herrera came up short on.

Yeah, and 17% scored it a draw.
So 30% didn't score it for Herrera. So yeah, "It is what it is".

I think Cotto vs. Alvarez is next.
I think Arum stated he has to wait for everything to clear up and see how the Golden boy vs. Richard lawsuit plays out before pairing up fights, right now Oscar doesn't know who he has signed to his stable, that is how clueless he is on the matter.
I wonder what Haymon tells these guys so they sign with him?
Neither are good fights but I'd rather Algeri considering I felt he beat Ruslan whereas I don't think Herrera beat Garcia.
I'd rather Garcia-Pacquaio
I'd rather Pacquaio-Matthysse
Better yet I'd rather him fight someone at 147 his weight like Thurman, or Guererro or even Amir Khan.
You know all those are Al Haymon fighters, not possible.

Why do you think kirkland was mentioned and not cotto as a the next possible opponent?
No idea.
Manny herrera at 140? Why? What about manny fighting a 147 lber?
They're all Haymon fighters.
He's the champ at 140 in the eyes of boxing fans. How does Pacquiao-Algieri sound to you?

If Pacquaio-Herrera is the best fight to be made that's quite depressing.
That's a terrible fight, frankly.
we should be getting Cotto v Alvarez and Pacquiao v Herrera next.

No, we have seen no credible evidence in the form of signed contracts, that the Cold-war is over. Plus Cotto is not a TR fighter .......
"We Should" doesn't equal "We Are" in any realm of possibilities.
Pacquaio-Herrera? That sounds horrible.
He's the champ at 140 in the eyes of most boxing fans. How does Pacquiao-Algieri sound to you?
Herrera has win over Provodnikov too.
Cotto-Canelo can happen I don't think Cotto is signed to TR.
that's a good point, although if what they're saying is true, they should be able to do business regardless.
we should be getting Cotto v Alvarez and Pacquiao v Herrera next.

Is Cotto signed to TR? I thought he was just working with them.
