I don't know what it is about this guy, but he has no interest in winning fights. Its like he purposefully sabotaged his career. He talked all that crap and this is what he does? No skill no craft no nothing. Just an embarrassing performance, even if u think he won. He has nothing to be proud of. Chance of a lifetime and this is what u do?
I definitely don't disagree with u. But does Lara have one gear? Is he that limited that he faces a bit of adversity, the whole fight changes? Ppl who said that he was one dimensional proved to be right. Hes just a limited fighter.
What are you both talking about?.
Lara controlled the pace for the whole fight, they exchanged when he wanted to for most of the fight. He moved for the whole fight.
That's how he fights and that was working just fine, Canelo threw his flashy combos when had the chance, but was being outboxed / outmaneuvered.
If something Lara was too negative, doing just what he thought was enough to win the round.
He seemed to respect Canelo's power much more than Floyd and never let his hands go.

It's agree and add that he showed mental weakness. Got lost and did not communicate with his corner or heed the advice he was given. I expected much more. All that pre fight confidence crumbled with every body shot.
Has everything to do with Canelo. Did you see round 3? Lara would have done that for the rest of the fight but Canelo unleashed a relentless body assault that slowed Lara down and took him out of his game. Yes, Lara could have done more and I believe he threw this away. But, it was Canelo who brought him to that point.

Has zero to do with Canelo. Canelo came to do his business. Wtf was Lara doing? Like seriously. U get the chance to prove your worth and u look like an amateur. I dunno how any Lara can can be happy with that performance. But it's typical Lara

Yea, it's like he's content on making fights close enough so that there is some contentious scores but he never goes that extra inch to put the fights away. And then his fans whine like it's shocking. This dude always does that. Hes just like Joshua Clottey.
He's a master at beating the southpaw yet always looks like **** against the good orthodox fighter. It's really weird but I will give him credit for not staying in the pocket too long tonight. He actually fought the fight of his life by putting his track shoes on because I was sure Canelo was going to stop him mid to late rounds. The running let him make the finish line but there was no way he was going to get the nod looking like Usian Bolt.
Have to agree with Dempsey and Dan on this.
Never saw what the hype was about Lara. He is good but like they said he seems happy to do just enough to win.
Lara forgot this was a World Cup year not an Olympic year.
Lara fought enough to get his fans to cry robbery but not enough to win.

Just ignore the opposition, Canelo's defence etc... are you always in conspiracy mode when your prediction goes wrong?
My prediction was that Lara's footwork would make him look bad and Canelo would win on the cards in controversial fashion. :lol1:
Exactly the same Lara.
Exactly the same.
Trout's defence is worse than Canelo's, and he placed the role of counter puncher against a master counter puncher, he didn't close the distance. This is similar to comparing the Floyd/Manny/Marquez fights and concluding Floyd blows Manny out because of their fights with Marquez, when two counterpunchers fight as counterpunchers and one guy has the superior speed and reach the other guy can end up looking a lot worse than he is.
Angulo is slow and that's a fight he struggled in, got dropped and nearly lost if it wasn't for the eye, hardly an impressive performance against the slowest fighter in the sport.
:lol1: ..........
Stopped reading there.
Lara thought he was Mayweather in there thinking he could throw a handful of punches per round and win. However, unlike with Mayweather, Canelo was at least able to land some solid blows.
I really did think he might have gotten over the hump with this issue in the last two fights, he was really putting a hurting on opponents in the later rounds and taking the fight. he fought well, but was capable of more...gave a judge every excuse
I think u need to watch more Lara fights. Totally his MO. This is very typical of him. I'm not really shocked. He likes to coast and do the minimal possible to win fights. Thing is he's not that good. I just don't see it.
No you do. You're kidding me right??
There's what he does normally and then there's what he did tonight.
Here is what he does normally:
He did try you're just experiencing cognitive dissonance...
It's like the shock after Canelo destroyed Angulo who Lara struggled with, people simply have trouble accepting that they are wrong, and that their favourite fighter is not as good as they thought.
I saw the same old Lara, one two, roll out, one-two roll out... except he was against a guy who had a good defense, who was faster than anyone else he faced, someone with solid head/lateral movement and someone with solid experience.
It's not rocket science (yeah styles make fights yada yada) that if the slowest fighter in boxing, Angulo, could catch and drop Lara, then Canelo could do the same....
Ok. So your claim is that I'm suffering from selective reality and I have some agenda. Right? Me? :lol1: Not you, the troll, that's been childishly antagonizing anyone and everyone you can about this fight for day on end?
And you have the audacity to try and tell me Lara always fights that way to try and support your HORSESH*T.
You are truly an idiot. 100 percent.
it's the story of his career. quite frustrating to just be a casual follower of his. i thought he showed enough in the first two rounds to blow the fight wide open had he decided to go full throttle and step things up . he goes out of his way to blow fights and... finally..i don't feel bad about scoing that fight for P williams.
