Official Scores: 118-109, 116-111, 115-112
118-109 is laughable, 116-111 is another bad score, 115-112 is correct.
Canelo was too inactive in the later rounds, what did you guys have? They've been showing replays of Lara and Canelos fights, and there's a new All Access on tonight at 9 EST
Could it be his confidence faded because he was hearing every 4 rounds how he had no chance to win on the scorecards?
This fight was a total crock of sh*t.
The first 8 rounds he had no idea he was way behind on the cards and had no shot at winning the fight. That only accounts for the last four rounds of the fight or actually three by the time his comer was notified of the scoring and Trout was given the judges scores it had to be between the 9th and 10th round.
He was visibly frustrated in the middle rounds by the time he got dropped and was constantly getting hurt with uppercuts he learned he had no shot.
116-111 and 115-112 are not very different scores. I think they are both acceptable. I was not as entranced with Trout's activity as I think the people who scored this fight a draw, or in his favor were. I feel Canelo carried it with his harder and telling blows. His accuracy rate was much better than Trout's.
Yea that's gotta suck when you're fighting your heart out and you know it's a close fight but one of the judges has you losing by a shutout after 8 and an other judge has you only winning 2 rounds :nonono:
believe me, it sucks worse to get dropped and seriously hurt by a clean punch.

still burns doe.
i remember you calling this fight a robbery.
Trout's confidence was visibly fading as the rounds went on. He just couldn't catch him and was taking right hands or uppercuts in return.
I remember Alvarez winning 8 rounds, most of his best rounds were between 5-10 where I thought he won all except the 8th.

I thought the open scoring helped hurt a lot of Trout's confidence in the fight imo..
This is why Canelo disrespected him and rested on the ropes, Canelo was smiling at him. Comical how Trout lacked the confidence to take full advantage of a visibly fatigued Canelo, he continued to do what was losing him the fight in the first place, punching too out of range and arm punching.

You can't land a ton of glancing blows and except judges to be persuaded, Maidana tried it with Floyd, it jus doesn't transcend into rounds won. You look lost doing that.

Just finished re-watching it, 8-4 for Canelo + the KD. I forgot how shitty Trout's display was, a winded Canelo still managed to outscore/ make him miss.
Exactly, Trout looked panicked, and bad after the first 5-rounds. He got outboxed, and got dropped to boot. Plain and simple.
Can't remember how exactly I scored it but I thought Canelo pretty clearly won like 8-4.
He landed the harder shots and actually outboxed Trout. It was far more comprehensive than people like to make out.
I agree with this.
