Looked back to himself against Mundine and he's always been well built so he probably feels better at 54. How do you think he matches up against Andrade, Canelo, Lara, Angulo, Vanes, Molina, Trout, etc....
Im very intrigued by him. I think if he's right then he can matchup well with just about anyone
josh clottey used to put on a TON of weight after hitting 147. 15+ lbs of actual weight gain between the weigh in and fight.
without the pacquiao fight, i'd take clottey much more seriously. i just can't get past a fight where a guy looked like he was ready to retire.
you get the biggest fight of your career, and you do that? how am i supposed to take him seriously?
i need more than him putting a whipping on tony mundine. mundine is 39 years old, and was always horrible. the man was stopped with one punch by sven freaking ottke.
clottey's 37, has been largely inactive, and he looked ready for retirement in the manny fight. i have zero hope for him until he does more than beat anthony mundine.
thats wtf Im tryin to say. To be the man, you have to beat the man and he just beat the man. What more do you want? Totally erases the Pac loss IMO
That Pac loss doesn't even count, Clottey had explosive diarrhea that fight.
When you beat a legend, you become a legend.

Clottey will give anyone problems, I love his fight against Manny because it showcases his amazing defense and Manny's notorious lack of an ability to effectively adjust. Clottey has one of the best peek-a-boo shell defenses I have ever seen, and when I want to work on swapping defensive stances in the gym I go back to tapes of Clottey often.
Mundine is nothing special and Clottey is 37 but this isnt the 80's anymore. Guys can fight at a high level for longer now and that goes for all of pro sports. He's also had a lot of time off and he's always had a bigger body so I think he could be solid. He might not win but I think he makes it tough for alot of guys. He still looks pretty fresh to me
I dont think he beats any of the top guys,, but he will make decent money by cashing out his name vs some youngsters like charo bros, andrade, nelson, etc...
Clottey is just never active enough all 12 rounds to win any big fights, much like his welter campaign..
I think he's game with anyone at 154, but has a much better chance against fighters with similar physicality. I don't think he'd be able to beat the longer, taller fighters that use their size advantage properly.
Would be very interested in seeing him against Kirkland.
Same loser he always was at the top end, he has decent talent but he is smallish for 154 but even if he found success against a top end guy he will find a way to blow it.
nah, Pac was super elite and a Southpaw. The guys at 154 dont have that kind of game and volume punching
Yeah. Imo there isn't that many elite fighters at 154, so like you, I can see him having success there.
I think he has the kind of pressure to get to Lara.
The grit to bang with the likes of Kirkland and Angulo
I see Canelo putting together too many combos and bombing away on him like Pac did, maybe just not as good as Pac did.
Clottey is a tough SOB at any weight. He just lacks the rhythm to hang with elite punchers like Pacquaio. He's too awkward and doesn't have enough volume to hang at the top, imo.
