Can you guys give any tips? I can state few problems I have:
1. I'm not exactly sure how long the steps should be. I'm always afraid that I either take too long steps or too short steps. My coaches corrected me in the beginning when I jumped way too much, I jumped more than Amir Khan when he closes the distance. I've shortened the step but I still don't feel comfortable with the step. I don't know if it's bad because it's too short or too long, I just know it isn't optimal. I haven't had time to go to the gym recently so I'm asking here.
2. How to sync the punches and the footwork? I always feel like I either start doing hopping punches when I don't get the rhythm but I need to close the distance or then I'm overreaching with my hand to make up for the lack of footwork. Often when I do 1-2-3 I throw the jab but I can't get the rhythm so I jump to close the distance and throw the 2-3 flat footed because I ruined my balance by the jump. What would be corrective method?
3. Are here any other boxers who have huge problems throwing cross while moving? When I throw 1-1-2 I get the jabs done but when I throw the cross I lose my stance (my feet are very far away as the back leg doesn't stay in the rhythm).
Boxing, and especially footwork, takes time. The movements are generally quite unnatural and unusual so it can take a while to establish muscle memory.
stop spouting nonsense

Just keep practicing. Shadow box as much as you can, listen to your coach and take any advice he gives you into your shadowboxing. As you get more comfortable in the stance and your balance improves you will find you are in a much better position to be throwing punches
Honestly, this will all come with time and practice
Good luck.
If you make it to the top I want £50 training fee. Non negotiable. Thanks
:D
That's absolute bs. I'm a beginner, who on earth has good footwork while punching as a beginner? I'm sure Hopkins, Rigondeaux or Clay/Ali didn't have great footwork when they were beginners.
My phone battery is about done but I'll write some advice for you later today.
You certainly can learn to use your feet well.
Either you got it or you don't. Either you're a natural or you're not. If you have to work on everything you'll be a Tommy Morrison.
With all due respect.
You haven't got a clue what you're talking about.
