Who would the champions be if all the active boxers fought each other under MMA regulation instead of the Marquess of Queensberry rules?
Basically, which boxer(s) is the best street fighter? The best all-around fighter(s).
Who would benefit most from those tiny gloves?
Would they just stand up and mainly punch, despite a cage, barefoot, and tiny gloves?

MMA is not guys' sports. Boxing is a real sport.
Would they do well if they fought boxers using boxing rules?
Probably not but as someone said Chris Algieri started off as a kick-boxer as did Wladimir and Vitali.
If the fighter has the right fundamentals and is young enough he could possibly make the transition.
If Floyd fought an MMA fighter, he would probably get killed.

Go **** yourself ashhole. Comprehend his sig first, then talk about what I said, loser.
Floyd Mayweather would have to fight in the womans division If he was to join MMA, he is better at hitting woman from what I've heard.
Shiiit asss like you always criticizes Floyd and you have a sig like that.
This thread sucks. Go to MMA forums.

Not everything is about Floyd
:bottle::bottle:
If we are talking about styles then the worst style for MMA and kickboxing would be the philly shell and fighters who rely heavily on upper body movement. Their need to put weight on their front leg would result in it being broken pretty easily by low kicks. They would also be thrown very easily while bobbing.
I agree that Hopkins would give about any average street fighter in a bar fits, but his dirty inside boxing probably wouldn't do very well in MMA due to anyone with basic muay thai training.
I see a lot of boxing fans calling the striking in MMA and kickboxing sloppy but they need to remember once you introduce throws and kicks, the finely honed "sweet science" goes out the window. Some guy bobbing and weaving on the inside would get his legs broken against an experienced kickboxer (ala the Arthur Williams vs Alexy Ignashov bout) because of traditional boxing's total negligence of front leg defense.
Which boxers could probably make a transition? A younger pair of completely re-trained Klitschkos could probably decimate the UFC heavyweight division. They both make MMA's HW "athletic monsters" like Brock Lesnar and Alistar Overeem look like slow stocky bodybuilders and are very good at distance control in the ring.
Andre Ward with heavy boxing experience could probably develop a style where he catches you standing then takes you down because his timing is excellent.
In the lighter divisions I could see Matthysse making a successful transition. He doesn't rely too much on delicate "sweet science" defense and has a hard-straights punching style which has been historically successful in MMA and kickboxing.
Then again Algieri is a recent kickboxing champion and uses tons of upper body movement and looks like a pure boxer. I would never peg him as being a kickboxer if I didn't already know.
Yeah if the boxer is checking the kicks...
Kick boxers work on the strength of their shin-bones I doubt they'd get it broken from hitting full force on the boxers outside of his calf or thigh especially if the boxer doesn't know how to deal with kicks.
Its one thing blocking a punch but another to block a full force leg kick coming right at your guard lol.
What is to say that the people in the philly shell wont easily be took down?
No doubt some of our boxers would do well but they'd come unstuck when they reach the guys with black belts in BJJ or a very skilled wrestler who would just keep them pinned down to the mat.
-Vitali Klitschko: ATG boxer and good kick boxer, though he never fought with K1/MT rules.
-David Haye: Very good boxer, fast+powerful and trains BJJ.
-Jack Dempsey: ATG boxer and trained wrestling with great wrestlers as part of his routine.
He also trained locks, chokes and holds.
-George Foreman: Beast with physical power. He also was lineman in american football which gives some balance in collisions and could help with defending a takedown or taking other boxers down.
-Cassius Clay: Nobody could catch him in the octagon.
-B-Hop: He has great footwork and is always in position. He can parry and shoulder roll which are better ways to block bare knuckle/MMA gloves than gloves in front of face. He's also intelligent fighter and would probably create very methodical style for MMA.
-Larry Holmes: ATG boxer with wrestling background.
-Kermit CIntron: Good boxer with wrestling background.
-Kaoklai Galaxy: ATG boxer with MT background.
End of the day If you quickly try to put a boxer up against a top level MMA in a MMA setting...
The person with more experience i.e. the person who has been training for that type of fight from youth will likely take down and ground and pound or submit the boxer, James Toney perfect example.
Ofcourse If the boxer gets someone idiotic enough to stand up with them....
Obviously if the MMA fighter is experience in kick boxing that could be a very dangerous prospect for a boxer to deal with.

hopkins -> he seems to have very good positioning/anchoring, so i wouldn't be surprised if he does very well in mma with a bit of grappling knowledge.
A young BHop would have succeeded at any combat sport, for sure. The man is a gem. And I would absolutely not want to **** with him in a street altercation. Especially in his prime.
