Why is Andre Ward not willing to go to 175?

come on...what big fights are there outside of froch 2? ggg isnt even a 168 pounder and will stay at 160 for atleast another year..ward has been chasing this guy since last year lol thats not the reason for him not moving up. chavez is a possibility but that fight will most likely land for froch. the real reason, as i stated a year or so ago is that ward has american diva fever The biggest problem isn't even opponent choice. He's suing his promoter, and keeps suing his promoter over and over. Ward said Goossen isn't making fights for him, and honestly can you say that's surprising? What promoter makes fights for fighters that are suing them?

Maybe Ward will fight Hopkins at 175 when Hopkins is 60? Or Stevenson or Kovalev when they're 45? He should do all of that then become a "legend". He's already beat more than 3 top 5 ranked guys so he'd already over half way there.

The 168 weight division didn't even exist for most of boxing history. There was just 160 and 175. Ward isn't a warrior like Joe Calzaghe, who left his country and moved up to 175 and fought the Ring champion Bernard Hopkins. Ward always demands everything his own way: weight, home advantage, no PED testing. Maybe Ward will fight Hopkins at 175 when Hopkins is 60? Or Stevenson or Kovalev when they're 45?

I think he wanted to go to 175 for all the marbles, there are obviously better fights at that weight but it really looked like he wanted there to be a clear number one guy to take out when he made the jump. That was fairly close to fruition also but that whole thing went up in smoke, which is probably part of Ward's current beef his plan went up in smoke and now he is upset because his promoter has no real back-up plan, surrounding landscape be damned.

No, it was Max Kellerman's idea. In hindsight, Chad should never have agreed to it. Dawson said HBO pressured him to fight Ward at 168 because Ward didn't want to go up to 175.
