I still think Thurman would do really well against Mayweather. The only problem is that he hasn't done enough to get the fight since everyone keeps ducking him since he's a high risk low reward fight at the moment. Thurman needs one or two good wins against guys like Porter, Guerrero or Alexander before people except that fight. If it happens in September no one would buy it because casual fans don't know who Thurman is yet.
I don't agree with what and the way Dwyer said what he said .....
What happened in the 2nd half of the fight was that Maidana couldn't keep up the pace and gassed out a bit in the 2nd half of the fight. Though, the judges gave Maidana 3 different rounds in the 2nd half of the fight. Unfortunately for Maidana, not all 3 were consistently in agreement with all 3 rounds!
The big problem in all this that I see is that Maidana has consistently shown that he slows down as the fight progresses. Same happened with Broner and others. So if Maidana wins 5 of 6 first rounds, no judge will actually give him all 5 rounds because his opponent is named Floyd Mayweather ..... so that means that Maidana has to stay consistent throughout the fight. Again, historically, he hasn't ...... So this would be the reason why a rematch may be a waste ...... Maidana will not get the benefit of the doubt by these judges.
Thurman still has to prove himself before getting at Mayweather and Matthysse still has to climb his way back considering he lost to Danny Garcia and almost lost to Molina Jr.
Well not a great rematch in my opinion because the first fight to me was pretty clear who was winning and the guy who can really adjust for the rematch is the guy who won the tough fight.
Maidana's 1 chance is to hurt Floyd and he needs to actually hit Floyd clean to do that no matter what gloves he is wearing. Maidana landed some punches but a lot of them were hammer fists with the bottom or corner of the glove and while you may consider those landed blows (the rules of boxing really don't) those aren't punches that will stop Mayweather.
Still the sentiment surrounding the first fight makes the rematch the obvious fight to make though, if people keep saying a fight was super close that it could be a draw (Maidana's close friends and family) or Mayweather lost then there are people that will listen to that story because people will believe what they want to believe.
Porter, Matthysse, Thurman are not proven to be any better though they might provide a more interesting fight than Maidana but they could also do a lot worse.
Thurman and Porter need more fights and/or should fight each other first. Bob has Pac until 2016. Matthysse? lol No.
Maidana is the best option atm. Casuals and the sh*t tards will eat it up! They believe Floyd lost and would lose again. So it will do better numbers all around.
One thing this dude did have right is that its a money fight. Floyd will make the most money fighting the most credible opponent atm. While also having solid options for May and September 2015 (Thurman, Porter, Alvarez Lara winner, Cotto II).... Assuming they all keep winning.
Maidana is better than Mathyse and arguably Thurman
I would love to see a Maidana vs Thurman bout.
We all would. But team Maidana made damn sure that didn't happen is all we can say bout dat.
I won't watch a Dwyer video after a good breakfast for fear of throwing up. I think the advise this guy gives gamblers and boxers is terrible and he is a poor judge of fighters. I think he really is worried that his baby boy Mayweather might just lose a rematch to Maidana. Maidana gave Floyd a hard fight. Witch one of them is most likely to improve in a rematch? Mayweather who is old and clearly past prime and on the downhill slide or Maidana who is dead in his prime and getting better every fight with Garcia training him? I am a fan of Thurman, Matthysse and Pacquiao but Maidana is one of only two fighters that almost beat Mayweather with Castillo being the other. That alone earns him a rematch and means the rematch is no joke. Mayweather is NEVER going to fight Pacquiao so who does Dwyer think he is kidding on that one? Matthysse recently lost to Garcia and has never beaten a welterweight in his life. Thurman is ranked slightly below Maidana and he has no accomplishments that equal beating Broner and giving Mayweather hell.
Not for nothing but I'm not even excited to see this rematch. I think Floyd is going move a lot and box his way to a decision. Won't be as exciting as the first fight. They better stack the card too. Hope there's no TMT bums on it either.
I hope Matthysse v Broner is on the undercard, but where Haymon's involved, I don't expect.
You do realize a lot of people from both worlds gossip, right? Just because women are more prominent at it doesn't mean they're the only ones who do it.
Actually men complaining about every minor detail of unimportant issues is a new behavior. You like hanging out with guys who gossip?
I somewhat agree with him in regards to anyone buy Maidana. If you look at the rematch and who truly has the ability to make changes for the second fight, it is Floyd. Maidana is a one trick pony even though that one trick is very strong, while Floyd can fight a totally different fight and make it truly one sided.

Maidana is a joke and Floyd is a joke for re-matching him
A great example. You cry about the rematch while giving no facts why Maidana is a joke or why its a joke Floyd fights him. Very strange way of debating or expressing your opinions.
Im noticing a shift in how society has changed to the point that men gossip and cry about every minor thing . I wonder when exactly men started acting more like woman, and what negative effects will come from this change in behavior. It gets called debating but when you look at it closer it goes far beyond that.

this dude is a joke.
potrays himself as some slick ass high rolling gambler while living in a one bedroom one bath apartment.

Right, because one bed, one bath apartments are off limits to people with money. They should be blowing it on stupid **** like Floyd Mayweather does, amirite?
