The thing is Gamboa has scary power at 126. Disproportional to his weight class. Loma is very skilled and even though Gamboa is at 135 right now Loma might be bigger. Smart enough and fast enough to at least keep up with Gamboa and counter him if he does get dumb. That fight is a toss up.
Its my opinion that Rigo is better but Loma is considerably bigger but Rigo has real pop at his class and is even faster than Loma in every way. Tough matchup due to size/skill ratio but Rigo seems to be flat out better
I give him a ton of credit
He is the anti-Danny Garcia
haha, i agree... Only 3 fights and he continues to want to fight the absolute best... If by some stroke of fate he actually gets more huge fights like these early on and WINS, there's not gonna be a hell of a lot of top competition to pick through... I wonder if he'll be able to move up in weight like Pacman
Lomachenko said he will fight Gamboa or Rigo if they go to 126 lbs. Also his next Fight will be late November, early October.
Lomachenko would beat the brakes off Gamboa but a fight with Rigo would be something similar to a gift from heaven, I would favor Rigo by a C-hair, and if Loma beat him, Lomachenkos stock would skyrocket, and he's already one of my favorite fighters, as well as Rigo.
Lomachenko wins both. Gamboa gets sloppy coming in hands down vs Lomachenko and he gets clocked. Vs rigo it'll be much tougher but I think he can pull it off
Lomachenko beats Rigo.
Size advantage doesnt really matter, but he has overall a greater skillset than Rigo. And his 3 fight inexperience as a pro wont matter at all, Rigo still fights like an amateur.
Guys that pressure will give him problems, but those that want to out box Lomanchenko will fall right into his strenghts, people are fooled just because he isn't as flashy as the rest of the guys.
The way he broke down GRJR was impressive, showed different demensions, systematically breaking him down in all areas.
Doubt Gamboa can make the weight, but even as the bigger man I think he'd get caught and put down. HBO commentary on Crawford being surprised by the smaller Gamboa's speed would be the same but in reverse against Loma. Add in Loma's crisp punching and respectable power and Gamboa finds himself flat on his face again.
I think Rigo takes it right now but I will **** on my own face to see that fight in a year or two. Might be a tactical borefest but I'll love every minute of that fight no matter what.
they'd have to fight at 130.
he'd fight them on the same night. dude has been released to teh wolves. i can see hwy they're moving him so fast, but he won't have a long career. you really have to worry about his health down the line if they keep matching him like this.
gamboa would have a big advantage in weight in the ring. that fight would be hellish.
i have a hard time believing that lomachenko could deal with a style like rigondeaux at the pros, but it would be interesting to see. lomachenko's feet are fast, he can punch, and he looks to have a good chin.
rigo said that he would move up to fight lomo.........thats one guy that rigo did say he want. i think if he re signs with top rank he gets that fight. but who knows what happens with his contract............. a lot of people are also sleeping on walters. walters is coming for everyone at 126 including lomochenko. I'm really big on walters. you guys should watch him a little more closely. he has the goods............
Well, if Lomo and Rigo meet, it's "El Chacal" that emerges victorious.
I don't think Gamboa is willing to go down to 126 anymore, and Rigo is pretty adamant about staying at 122. I doubt either match-up happens, but you never know. It would be nice to see either fight.
