Algieri-Provodnikov rematch in the works

Cant see it being that much as it was considered a easy, stay busy fight.

not a fight im overly interested in but it makes sense. both networks have zero marquee match ups coming towards the end of the year. this has been a horrible boxing calendar year.

I dont get provs team at all. The guy hates fighting boxers , usually complains post fight about them and his team keeps making fights that put prov at a disadvantage. My biggest complaint with Prov is his inability to give credit to people who beat him . He always has some lame comments about why he lost while looking like hes gonna cry. Well you can see why he thinks that he always wins, right? His opponents look like they've been in car wrecks :) Obviously that doesnt mean much in an actual boxing match though. I think his team needs to work on his boxing IQ. Like explain to him that he's taking Ls when the other guy is hitting him, even if it's not doing damage.

It didn't look like Ruslan had that same intensity he had in previous fights really didn't throw any of his speed combos and it wasn't like Algeiri was moving the whole fight he got walked into the corners plenty but was able to just hold or skirt away maybe just an off night. If it happens fine. if not fine. maybe later fine.

Why should Algieri have to rematch if there was no rematch clause, i'd go for a bigger fight if i was Algieri, fuk a rematch. There was a rematch clause...and im not sure if i like this rematch for Provo. I was at the first fight ringside, it didnt seem like Ruslan could hurt Algieri after the first round. He rocked him with some single shots but nothing really hurt him that bad. Ruslan is gonna need to figure out a way to land more body shots.

I thought Ruslan edged out the fight but I think Algieri will do better the second time around. I think Algeri boxed him up and deserves the win but loses the rematch

This fight wasn't even close. Ruslan had two moments early and Algerie took over completely.

Still a 50/50 fight in my opinion, not sure who wins the rematch but I'll still root for Provo.

Ruslan should win if he throws more punches. There were so many times late in the fight, he had cut the ring off well and trapped Algieri, and he literally just sat in front of him and looked for one big shot. Yup. I cant figure out why he didnt try to break him down instead of looking for one shot all night.
