I pulled for Crawford but as stated in my other thread I wished the best for both guys and will continue to be a fan of both guys. That being said. Gamboa showed a lot of heart and still has what it takes to be a champion. (Granted, needs a better trainer).
So in appreciation of what Gamboa did last night and the heart he showed albeit stubborn and reckless. I salute you good sir and can't wait to see him back in the ring. Respect
I have always been a fan of his even when the HBO crew would say he wasn't the same Gamboa. He took a lot of heat on here but every time he fought I tuned in. He's an exciting fighter to watch I hope Garcia vs Gamboa happens later this year. Gamboa needs to work with Pedro Diaz if he wants to get back in the limelight. Out of the three Cuban fighters that I like watching from Lara,Rigondeaux, and Gamboa my favorite is Yuri.
Do you know who Yoan Pablo Hernandez is he's exciting/vulnerable always in these type fights.
Gamboa does deserve praise for that effort maybe not the best strategy to stand and rumble as much as he did but he wanted that KO.
Gamboa was crazy for taking this fight, the guy thinks hes Pacquiao or something.
I knew Crawford had legit power at 135 and Gamboa had a very unlegit chin. The outcome was pretty obvious imo.
Absolutely ridiculous this fight.
The size difference was crazy but Gamboa pulled it out for the first rounds.
I think the turning point was body work but mainly the big exchange....he couldn't stay sharp & it zapped his legs.
Either fight smarter or drop division .
Respect!!

Gamboa showed great skills and heart.. It was an exciting fight but crawfords size and skill was too much for yuri.. Gamboa needs to go back to 130.
I think he has a legit chance to beat mikey
The silver lining is that Gamboa entertained the crowd and left it in the ring. Therefore, the bigwigs at HBO/Showtime will probably be glad to have him back.
I still want to see Juanma vs. Gamboa, even if it makes little sense.
I think that fight makes a lot of sense.

1) Gamboa has the reputation of being reckless, and when he gets dropped his instinct is to fight back.
2) Has he ever tested positive for PED's?
He was on PEDs for all those fights where he was dropped.
Some PEDs have the side effect of making you more aggressive and brave than what you normally would be. Probably confusing that with heart.
That statement makes it obvious you've never seen his entire pro career and more importantly amateur career. Where it's Olympic testing. He's always had that style. ALWAYS. This is nothing new.
Just watched the fight again . What a battle . I'm an even bigger fan of both guys now. No shame at all in yuri's loss. He was a man possessed last night , he was gonna keep getting up . In 4 knock downs he was down a total of about 5 seconds . He should move back down and get a trainer.
There was a puddle on that Tacate sign . It seemed pretty dangerous and was effecting both fighters . If that happens in the future someone should mop that up so it doesn't affect the outcome if there is an injury.
