This is my last topic in the no lists trilogy. I don't get to post much but I love hearing the opinions of dedicated boxing fans.
Note....you don't have to say Corrales-Castillo coz you thought that was the greatest fight or Gatti-Ward, Ali-Frazier etc.....YOUR favorite fight and explain why?
maybe not the best. but most meaning fight for me chavez sr vs taylor, i was so young and became a fan of the sport after that, great fight with a lot of drama...
Benn v McClellan, no question.
Yeah Im going with this as well.
Of course, Clay-Liston I, Ali-Foreman, Ali-Frazier I, Leonard-Duran I, Leonard-Hearns, Foreman-Moorer, Gatti-Ward I and other usuals are up there.
Recent fights I'd pick....
I forgot the name of the two fighting :/
How about the entire fight card of Keith Thurman vs Diego Chaves?
That was an awesome night of boxing!
David Tua vs Ike Ibeabuchi
Fookin War!!!
Great mention, one of the best fights in the heavyweight division in the late 90s. Both men were willing to give everything, quite possibly the best performance either guy ever had.
To answer the thread title question - easily Corrales vs Castillo. I explain why in my BoxingScene blo entry, though I do need to update it as I have watched it lots of times since and have more thoughts on it. It is the perfect boxing fight. I can't ask for anything more.
The topic is about YOUR favorite fight. We all know Corrales Castillo was one of the greatest fights.
Gatti vs. Ward I. That's the fight that turned me into a hardcore boxing fan.
As far as fights I've been to, Chavez Jr. vs. Martinez. Guy I was rooting for (Chavez Jr.) didn't win but atmosphere for that fight was unreal - especially in the 12th round when Chavez had Martinez in trouble.
Fernando Vargas vs oscar de la hoya. That's when I realized I really was into the sport as a young kid
Same here, that was one hell of a fight with an awesome storyline!:fing02:
