simple, poll.
keep in mind... you can build him the Al Haymon way, or give him real deals with exciting fights. this guy isn't afraid to lose, he wants to prove himself.
Where will this dude rank All-Time if he runs over every Top Fighter in/around his weight like Rigo, Donaire, Jhonny, etc etc?
i dubt he will "run over" them, but maybe a win over each over in rematches?
but of course im really hoping he runs em over, we would be witnessing a legend in making... making history...
im bad with rankings, so im just gonna say if he "run over em" all, definitely HoF, and top50 ATG?
i think were getting a little too excited though. russell was untested.
126 is a much better money division than 130 or 135..
Donaire, mares, jhonny, bring more money than Crawford, Vasquez,
vasyl will really be something if he continues to fight big names rather than "bums" (i quote bums because really, nobody should be called bums at that level :P).
no ducking, no fear of loss, just challenging the best.
i feel the era now is so focused on records that there are great fights being destroyed, and vasyl could be here to clean it up :)
TS you named three Showtime or Golden Boy boxers and a fourth in Rigo who is done with Top Rank after his next fight but don't list the three other champions Top Rank has in the same division as Lomachenko. Odd choices.
yes odd choices because im relatively new to boxing, and don't follow the featherweight division as much.. mainly leo santa cruz, guillermo rigondeaux, loma, donaire and i apologize for missing the important names, ruined the poll :/..
Loma has done some good things considering his limited pro experience, but right now a bout with Rigo, Santa Cruz or any of the guys on that level would be bad. Hopefully you guys don't think he can beat these guys based on that decision over Russell Jr.
i dont know about rigo, but santa cruz maybe a chance? and like i mentioned in the first post, its time we forget about the records.. they can always rematch, and if u dont take risks/go against the norms/accept the hate/accept the criticisms, how will he make history (continue to)
he shouldn't fight anyone on that list because they all fold him.
same reason above^^^^^^^
he has the balls, the heart, and is willing to take risks. why not continue making history?
This guy is no pup, he needs to earn now and 126 is no money division.
If he was 138 at the bell then the other must have been 112 hahahaha.
These guys like Rigo and Lomo who have tons of experience but are not 26 years old anymore they need to put the pedal down unless winning BS titles is more important than bank rolling their lives!
This is pro prize fighting and money speaks loudest when the finish line is moving towards you. Unless a couple of million works for you then so be it.
I look at a guy like GGG and see the time clicking by him. No one will sign at 160 so he has to vacate where he's best suited and go after bigger guys or he leaves the sport without earning his due.

Lomachenko and Russell both weighed 138lbs in the ring last night and you think he should move up two weight divisions which are both loaded with talent to compete in the desolate LW division? Horrible advice.
126 to 140 O__O? thats 14lbs difference!
really ._.? how come they dont show weight of fight night anymore?
They did, last night. Loma 138.5, Russell 138

I think Crawford at 135lb would be a good match up. Lomo is fighting at 140+ anyways, he may as well get rid of the 126 mark and move into a division where he has no concerns about weight and he can train for adding more power. He uses the clock very well but I'd like to see him do more work and a little less movement. He needs to move and come off it and sit down on his punches so he can begin to wear down his opponents starting in the second round not the 5th.
He fought well the other night but the young man he fought had no punch and he gave up a lot of size! Even when Lomo's punches were blocked he moved his opponent.
I think 135 would be perfect for a year, he would have good opponents and he could generate more money. Donaire & Rigo are way to small to mix with him.

Didn't he only weigh 138 on fight night? Those guys would be much bigger then him. Let's see him fight the quality guys at 126 first.

I think he should definitely go after another title. Who has the belts? Donaire,Walters,Gradovich, and Gonzales??
I'd say go for Gradovich..Donaire and Walters are supposed to fight. Then the winners meet next.
why tune ups? i dont really think hes gonna want to or will be fed journey men fighters..... after going 1-1 he went straight to gary russel... when he couldve fought cans to build his record
why not unify with gradovich in the fall, imo hes nowhere near the fighter russel is. it would look easy for loma
i think he should have a couple easy fights, not straight tomato cans but journeyman type fighters to give him soem experience and get his record a bit better to build more hype around him. Then throw him in there with donaire or someone of that calibre for a big hype match
I dont even care. Just want to see him fight. He's 3 fights in and has mnt really had an "easy" fight lol. Maybe match him soft a few times. Work on that killer instinct, let him learn to finish.
He should stay active, have two more fights this year against top 10-15 contenders. One of the opponents should be a slugger (Cuellar maybe). These fights will allow him to gain more pro experience and make some adjustments.
He should avoid guys like Salido, Gradovich, etc. for the time being. He takes too many rounds off and doesn't like to fight going backwards. You can see it in the Salido fight, and Russell was having some success when he was the aggressor.
