This fight makes too much sense right now. A win puts Devon right back in the mix at 147. A win for Thurman gives him his first win over a top welterweight.
Say what you want about Devon but he's been in the ring with Bradley, Matthysse and Maidana when he as an up and coming fighter.

Devon has the edge in speed while Thurman has the edge in power. At the same time, Devon does have a decent chin and Thurman is no way a slow boxer.
Still, Devon may want to definitely stick to a gameplan against Thurman. Lately he seems too willing to mix it up and that will definitely do him in against Thurman probably worse than it did against Porter. Still, there's no way to compare them to previous opponents so this is rather difficult to call...and that's why it should be made.
Alexander has a lot of competitive experience to UD Thurman. This fight will make Thurman live up to his nickname "One Time." About time to see this guy struggle with real competition.
The point isn't to see Thurman "struggle" with real competition. It's to see somebody finally fighting him. Thurman himself has said that he's not afraid to let go of his 0.
People are way to high on Thurman he is adverage at best,he is b class
I think at this point it's impossible to really tell what Thurman is..He's not fought enough top level opponents..
And why is he boring?? Is Devon the only fighter that quit?? And while we're on the subject of boring, there are quite a few fighters labelled boring. But I bet you only chose (hate) a certain few yourself. Lota nerve calling anyone idiot though.
Its the way he quit. Claiming one eye was bad, then went and forgot the eye so he starte using the wrong eye.
He has obviously proved himself sense then but that was the reason everyone hated him. You lied and said it was something else.
He was boring because he used to spoil and didnt fight on the inside. We all know this. But are you referencing Floyd though? The only boring Floyd fights were against Ghost and Baldo in which everyone booed both fights.
Floyd has always been a very entertaining fighter which magical athleticism and counterpunching. People just lied about him being boring because they hated him. NO ONE booed the Canelo fight people were screaming because he was in their making a statement and being aggressive.
Now the JMM fight wasnt aggressive but the defense and athleticism was pure wizardry. Go back and watch that fight, no one screamed out of excitement like they did when he fought Canelo, but they were going OOO and AAAhh every time he did one of those fancy pull counters.
Floyd has rarely been boring, people like you just lied about it and tried to associate his defense with a spoiling style when in actuality if it wasnt for his cool slickness none of us would really even pay to see him.
His defense is what gave him that aura of invincibility. So he aint never been a BHop type of fighter. Him and Devon have NEVER been similar.
Devon's been working on his inside game you could tell. He's still got a ways to go but he showed some new wrinkles in his arsenal against Soto Karrass. If he can get that aspect of his game up to par he will be much more difficult to deal with.
I'm not a fan of Alexander and thats mainly due to Cunningham because he's cunt, BUT Devon is and always proves he's game bar the Bradley fight. He fights anyone and everyone, he's fought better opposition than many of the other guys around his age and position in the sport.
I think he could make Thurman look rather ordinary with his movement and speed, not saying that he beats him, but he wont make Keith look special at all.
I don't see Keith stopping Alexander either, dude has a badass chin!
I'm not so sure, Alexander is not going to stand in front of him. He'll move and box, and he's faced big punchers before. 50/50 fight, imo.
Thurman's actually boxer-puncher, he's fought at JMW and has heavy hands, Alexander is a JWW who has moved up and is a light puncher. DA's going to get hurt, book it.
Ken Porter refuses to put his son in with Thurman unless the winner is guaranteed a shot at Floyd, he was one of Thurman's coaches at am level, Shawn dominated Alexander.
Alexander will get knocked out.

Wouldn't be surprised if Alexander beats Thurman. He has a good chin, faster hands and has fought the better fighters. Would like to see it next.
Alexander will get knocked out.
Not a fan of Devon but he's willing to step up and fight the top guys and I always respect that.
A fight with Thurman will be a great test for both fighters and will tell us where both of them stand. A fight with Khan would also be an intriguing fight. Hopefully they can make them happen.

There is no reason the fight should not be made, unless De La Hoya lied about wanting to make the best fights possible and decides to continue to put Thurman in the ring with C-level opposition. If Thurman's next fight is against a washed up has been (like Zab Judah or Berto), someone no one ever heard of or an opponent who loses to every b-class opponent he faces (Soto-Karass), we will know the answer to that.
Idiot thats not why people hated him. They hated him for quitting against Bradley and being a boring fighter. LOL

If it's one thing you can say bout Devon, he don't duck no one. People always hate on this guy, but then defend the (business) move fighter. I have loads of respect for Devon, I really do. He jumps out of the rain and into the ocean with no hesitation.
the guy cried his way to a loss against Bradley lol
I think Alexander should change his name from Alexander the great to Alexander the pretty good. He is not great and he never has been and never will be. Thurman took Soto out and I would pick him to beat Alexander by ud. Alexander has a good chin and a good defense so he probably goes the distance but he is too timid and defense minded to beat Thurman.
