Russell is a bum and he was exposed. His toughest opponent before last night was tba. All that pitty pat speed is fine vs hobos, but doesn't work against legit fighters.
So you can't see good qualities in Russell? I see!
the best way to deal with posters like lightspeed being f#cking stupid is to make fun of them. they won't change their minds in the face of insurmountable opposition, which is the definition of ignorant.
siri is slower than russel jr by choice? hello? it's my responsibility to prove that a slower fighter is choosing to be slower?
what the f#ck is the matter with these people?
Let me go bust out my sports science lab and call up Salido and Russell so I can put them through a battery of scientific tests to really judge their speed accurately.
Sometimes it is hard to judge speed with the eye but assuming Lomachenko is roughly the same speed there is a clear point of comparison for speed. Lomachecko showed he had much faster hands even in a losing effort while Russell appeared to have faster hands (although was a lesser boxer) or at least was close to parity.
I possibly could argue that but I have these two things on the front of my face to both sides of the bridge of my nose called eyes they allow me to do something called seeing.

At least one thing can be said about GRJ he is a tough S.O.B. I agree he realized he was outgunned but he stayed in there and took some damn good shots.Up top and down stairs
he said "elite fighters weren't a fast as russel because they weren't choosing to be" and that it was my responsiblity to prove that siri salido wasn't as fast as russel jr.
unless you're retarded, you can see what is wrong with the statement.
i am a prick, but i can teach 99.99something percent of this board a ton about boxing. lightspeed is clearly one of those guys who could learn from me.
let me guess, you think salido is as fast as russel jr, too?

He made a good point, you're just being a prick as usual. It's pretty obvious what the guy was getting at.

The air around GRJ took a terrible beating last night :cop:
He tried though and early was so fast he had the ability to disrupt Lomo's rhythm at times. As the fight went on though the punching was more to try to keep Lomo's offensive attacks in check only. He gave up trying to win and was really only windmilling. It was him trying to stay upright for 12 as Lomo's body attack was getting to him.
you think every "elite" boxer can be as fast as russel jr. you don't know what you're talking about.

Didn't even know what the hype was all about about this guy. He was not even trying to win. He was trying to survive. He was throwing punches aimlessly like shooing a bird away. He was lost in that fight and didn't know what to do. He probably figured at the outset that if he trades, he'll get ktfo. He's not setting a trap, then counter, just like veteran fighters do. He was clueless.
Russell is talented indeed. He happened to fight a guy with pretty good movement and he was not able to fight at the right distance(due to Lomo movement). That's why he couldn't land. To say the Russell is a bum and "he was esposed" is showing your ignorance about boxing.

Al Haymon matched him against cans for a reason. It will be interesting to see how Wilder goes against someone who can fight.
Stivern is going to get jacked up. People like to doubt Wilder but I have seen him throw fast, straight punches plenty of times when others only seem to recall windmill punches for some reason. The guy has ALL the physical advantages not just one or two.
If Arreola can get to Stiverne, Wilder will eat him alive.
Speed is great but it is how you use it that really counts, and if a guy can't apply their fast hands in a way that is superior to the other guys defense they will have big issues. People always talk about guys falling in love with their power which makes their offense less effective as a whole, the same thing with speed if you become too reliant on it it can stunt offensive growth because you can just always get guys without having to really think about what you are doing.
Lomachenko's defensive movement and guard was just better than Russel speed based offense
