Bantamweight? Featherweight? Welterweight?
He was vicious at the lower weights, I think he primed at Lightweight (vs Diaz) and slightly deteriorated from there. It's just amazing to watch a past prime Manny steamroll everyone up to Light Middleweight.
Your thoughts?
I voted lightweight and he could return to lightweight and completely dominate it today. He weighted 138 for Hatton and looked amazing. He did not have to dry out or anything to make 138 and could have just as easily weighed 135. He was about 30 so his growing days were long gone. He also looked unbeatable when he fought Diaz in his only lightweight fight.
This, no one could have beaten him that night. I knew I was right at voting LW like most does because at this time he was in his physical best. Once he moved up weight, he deteriorated physically and started boxing more. One can safely tell that a 'past prime' Pac thrashed much of the fighters at Welter up to the Light-Middleweight. What an ATG. :boxing:

Whichever CATCHWEIGHT Roach believes will give Pac the greatest advantage and give the opponent the greatest disadvantage.

He peaked physically as a SFW in my opinion, he still had the speed and reflexes but was also a monstrous puncher. As a boxer he improved dramatically as he got older however, and he was/is a far better boxer now than he was as a bantamweight or featherweight.
Manny has two different primes. His physical peaked during by he hit LW so he WAS prime during his time in the SFW in my opinion. Its just his skills had kept improving into his Welterweight reign.
The 2009 Manny was different than 2006 in terms of skill.

At light middle? he steamrolled no one. He did not even steamrolled a lightweight in Marquez, nor jr welters Rios and Bradley. You are just talking out off your a$$!!!

Pacquiao was primed at a number of weights, I have always held to the belief that his prime lasted from the first Barrera fight in 2003 to his complete and utter dismantling of Cotto and Clottey in 09/10. Those were his prime years, physically he was in the shape of his life, his speed of hand and foot was un-matched in the sport and his ferocity and aggressive boxing technique was almost unparalleled since the days of a young Tyson.
His peak though, which is the highest point of an athlete's prime was the run of fights he had from JMM 2 to Cotto, he was almost untouchable and absolutely unbeatable, of course JMM gave him fits but JMM is Manny's Norton or Bowe.
You are right because his prime depends on whether he is on meth or not
Lightweight or Junior Welterweight were the peak combination of skill and talent. Dude was a monster. It really sucks that he didn't hang around at those weights, but the money was higher up.
His best performances were at Welter but he is too small for 147 physically, his skills make it so that he is successful at welter. Floyd could be very successful at 154 if he chose to, he's small at that weight but skills pay the bills.
