Sine yall are accountants and have stakes in multiple companies, I thought I'd give you a heads up. I'm not sure about the validity of the results but this is what's being reported. 900K is impressive for those who care, it's some 50-100k more than the Pac and May PPV fights this year.
To put into perspective, there are about 10mil+ Sky TV subscribers, half of those are Sky HD subs, not sure.
Taking into account the 10mil figure, almost 10% of people who have Sky watched the fight on TV with a further few thousand probably watching on illegal streams. To put it into further perspective, never has this occurred in the US, where 10% of either HBO or Showtime subscribers have tuned in for a PPV fight.
Suck it Americans! :smashfrea
Yes - It's private business.
That has always been their mantra, and I doubt anyone who works with/for Sky would give out that information as it would be a breach of their contract.
So, as I said, I sincerely doubt those numbers are real - first and foremost because I know nobody at Sky would release those figures and only very people in the organization know them. Secondly, because I don't think it did 900k. or close to that.
Why don't you think it did close to that? Do you live in the UK? Because the hype for this fight was unreal. The pubs were black for it.
Great but cant not nearl compare that to Pac or Floyd, if Pac - Bradley 2 & Floyd - Maidana were 28 bucks they would have easily sold 2 mill + on its own...
...but im not taking away anything from Froch & Groves, love to see boxers not named May & Pac doing it big :boxing:
America's population vs Britain's population.....
Also can Yanks buy PPV stand-alone? I've always wondered this. We pay a subscription for Sky and then have to buy PPVs on top of that.

Phenomenal numbers considering the total population of the UK. Imagine how many families sat around and watched the fight together. This has to be up there with the highest PPV per population in history.
per capita olympics doe.

Interesting take, LacedUp.

In that case, 900k is weak. But it did good numbers in the US so I cant bash it.
how is it, we have a much smaller population than USA. Which is around 320 million. UK is around 70 million.
U.S has a population of 300mill, UK has a population of 60mill. I think it did pretty well, especially because people aren't used to paying for Boxing PPVs here, Boxnation is a one off payment for 6 months I think. Faaaaar cheaper for Boxing heads.
boxnation is £12 a month
Isn't that what I just said. And what's a "cheery pick?"
P.S. Nigel Benn is a F A G
My bad I read it the wrong way around. We are on the same page.
I don't care if you like Benn or not...I don't need approval. I know he was bad ass.
