Maybe it's just me but Ward was excellent last night. He wasn't as monotone as he usually is. I felt he spoke with conviction and gave some great insight. It seems he's starting to settle into the commentator role and it is becoming more natural for him.
He may not be better than Roy Jones but his analysis is more consistent and focused.
What makes you so sure
I think it will go to decision like the first fight. Froch is a hell of a fighter but knocking Ward out is a tough task. This would be a great fight in the UK. I would pick Ward by decision.
Froch will KtfO of ward in a UK rematch
I would love to see Ward go to the UK for a Froch rematch. It would be a wise decision for him. He won't be getting KTFO though.
I couldn't hear Lampley last night because he kept on sucking Ruslan's dick all night and I was rooting for Ruslan. IMO Ward did a great job. Algieri may not have any power but he was landing clean, crisp punches that were snapping Ruslan's head back. Steve Wiesfeld also deserves a smack upside the head, too. HBO should at least make the dick sucking less obvious. Last night was a new low for Lampley and Kellerman.
Kellerman seemed on the verge a few times of saying that Algieri was winning, but he was either hesitant because of the HBO judge or holding back because he knew it wasn't the company line.

Lampley's comments after the decision were pretty disgraceful.
"No wonder why it took so long to tabulate the scores. A stunning result in Brooklyn where Chris Algieri weathers two knockdowns in the fist round, and a completely shot right eye. And winds up getting from the official judges a generous split decision victory over Ruslan Provodnikov.
I give credit to Kellerman, for admitting that he was possibly swayed in his own persoanl judging by groupthink being with Lampley, and seeing Algieri's face look like a mess.
I did think Max gave plenty of credit to Algieri, several times remarking at how well he was boxing but with Lampley you know he's all in on the company guys and Roach fighters.
Does HBO, Kellerman & Lampley even know how bad they make themselves look and how they hurt the sport with their biased BS? A real question! I mean take Lampley for example, he talks so much BS but if nobody over the years tell him that its clear that he dont stop with that cause he maybe really believe the sh-it he is talking. A BUNCH of people (boxing fans through petitions or known people like ex-boxers or some promoters) need to point that out or nothing will change...
Lampleys hard on for Roach is epic.
I don't mind Roy. He roots but he rarely forgets to analyze. Its fine. Biased vs rooting for friends is different
Lampley is almost comedic tbh. Max is ok. Roy is good at analyzing but I just can't help but notice him ALWAYS rooting for the black guy when it's an American vs a foreigner.
I thought Weisfeld was perfectly fair. He flat out said that it was a difficult fight to score, he explained why he was scoring it the way he did, and basically said he didn't have a problem with someone who had it completely different.
Ward fighting style is intricate and complex -- one can't fight the way he does only from talent and without brain. Besides, Ward is one of the very few top guys who can express in words what he is doing and what others are doing in the ring.
Paulie is another one.
turn off that awful, biased british commentary, and watch the end of that fight again.
jim watt and his flunkies are the reason that ridiculously false rumor is spread. go watch that fight again. i watched and scored it very recently to son a few brits. ward lands the cleaner punches in 11 and 12.
two of the official judges gave froch round 11 and one of them gave him round 12.. i dont think they were influenced by jim watt and his flunkies..
i gave froch both 11, 12.. he had ward struggling pretty bad, fighting to survive and looking a complete mess.
nah i dont mind ward as a boxer myself but i always hear people complaining that he's boring and dirty etc, and that he has no fans.. as far as "beating up carl" there was only one round in that fight on the official cards, if two judges give carl one more round the fight's an official draw.. go check the scorecards.. ward clearly lost the championship rounds, he was hanging on for dear life lets be honest. but i had him winning the fight overall, by a couple rounds.
the one thing i hated about ward though is that he is a hometown whore cos none of his super 6 fights were outside america and the whole agreement was that all fighters would travel to each others countries. ward was literally a diva in that tournament and it was a "b!tch move" i find hard to forget..

ward is one of the better HBO draws he's also one of the better american draws domestically. most of the top billed fighters at the gate in america aren't even american. cotto, manny, marquez, canelo.
i get what you're trying to do, bro, believe me. i'd run the prince down, too, if he beat up our carl.
