Who is the future of 140?

I think Broner could actually do well at 140, as could Algeiri and possibly Crawford but I'm not sold on him but none will be dominant.

I remember hearing that Mikey Garcia was moving up in weight. He's a possible contender.

Currently as far as guys already fight at 140 I would say Jose Zepeda & Amir Imam! Also guys who had setbacks can't be overlooked like Dulorme and Andrien Broner. When someone say future I tend to look more at the YOUNGER GUYS. Jessie Vargas style might not be exciting but the guys can box a bit and wouldn't be a easy fight for either fighters. I agree with Crawford once he moves up also but want to see what he does against Gamboa Chris Algieri and Viktor Postol are more of the Current Guys because both are 30 years old so their time is NOW, not in the future.

Even tho the fight is at 135, defeating Gamboa could be the beginning of something good. Yeah, gamboa is not an easy walkover... but i think crawford beats him. Crawford isnt the flashiest fighter, but the guy has good overall skills.. He reminds me of a young andre ward..

Agree with this. Thats exactly how i feel.... I dont think we will see a dominant fighter till crawford moves up.. Alot of good fighters, but i dont think any of them will be able to string to together a bunch of wins except for crawford... Even tho the fight is at 135, defeating Gamboa could be the beginning of something good.

Probably nobody. Todays fighters seldom stay at their best weight. The best 140 pounders fighting now will all probably move up to 147. Pacquiao could probably rule 140 and beat any other 140 pounder for the next few years. Pacquiao stays at welterweight because that's the bigger money division and he can eat a lot and still make weight without any drying out. Garcia and Matthysse are good but they will probably follow Maidana, and Khan up to 147.
