is Donaire An ATG?

HOF for sure due to such a deep resume filled with good names and great fighters. However his career is still wide open and if he manages to fight and win with fighters such as Leo Santa Cruz, Abner Mares, Takashi Uchiyama, Takashi Miura, Miguel Angel Garcia, Crawford/Gamboa for the rest of his career, than no question about it. I name these fighters because Donaire said he wanted to go up in weight as much as possible and perhaps end at 140. However, just because he can rise in weight doesn't mean he will win above 126 without his actual boxing skill. Donaire's career is just like his personality, awkward.

Donaire is not an ATG, and i dont think he ever will be. if he were to retire today, he probably gets in the HOF eventually, but he lacks that marquee win against a fellow great fighter..

not just yet but wins against Nishioka, Montiel, Marquez, Arce, Vazquez, definitely puts him up there as one of the best of his generation and who knows, a few more good to great wins under his belt and he could be an ATG. But I don't think that will happen, he is close to being shot.

Hell no. Talked a lot of smack before the Rigo fight and then gets schooled by a far smaller dude with 10 pro fights. Then tries to blame his loss on bad shoulder and new baby. Gets schooled in the second Darchinyan fight until he lands a lucky punch. Uses a little cut to get out of the simpiwe fight. Relies only on a left hook his entire career. Donaire thinks he's the second coming of Manny Pacquiao but he isn't close, not as a boxer or as a man.

NO! But his career is not over yet and it is not because he lost to Rigondeaux either. Because of Boxing's rich history, it hard to break even Top 50 ATG Donaire Down Fall Was? Chasing Pacquiao's Stardom! Before the Montiel KO, Donaire was a far better boxer and smarter fighter but after that KO he started CHASING KO's and when away from his BOXING SKILLS and they he started to struggle and look bad and then he ran into Rigondeaux and got Mental and Physically Picked Apart But lets see how the final few chapters in his career ends, he is still a damn good fighter

I think if he was an ATG, he would have beat Rigo. But there's still time left in his career. I thought he looked good against Venyeka. He got cut early but still put his man down and caught him with with his money punch. IF Donaire beat Rigo first time around people would of came out with the usual tripe though... Oh he was meant to Donaire was too big for him Rigo should of done this and that and he waited too long for his professional career to start People are constantly telling me the amateurs mean nothing when they come into the pro game but suddenly it does for Rigo but not for GGG? If GGG beats Geale he will have a better victory on his resume than Rigo does and his resume will be overall better well you could argue it already is better.

No not an ATG,, he is still active, so that may change if he has a good run at feather and 130, maybe 135... Donaire is def a hall of famer, just dont see him as an ATG at the moment

He has a good chance then. His FW title holds no weight right now though. Fighting and beating Walters would make him look better for now. I'm not counting the interim, but he's at 4 right now and unified a couple of times... that's always good. If he unified at FW that'd really help, even more so if he won a SFW belt. If he did that... or half of that, his stock would definitely rise. Exactly. Way too early to write him off. Losing to Rigondeaux is nothing to be ashamed of. Other ATG's have lost to worse competition.

He's the closest thing south of 130 that can even be considered an ATG, but at this moment, no.

To butt hurt Rigo fans, a big NO. But to me I say, lets wait for him to retire before judging his career. I think he still has 4-6 yrs. You could easily compare Guilermo Rigo to Andre Ward, both butthurt about nobody caring about their career whilst Froch and Donaire have a much bigger fan base and will always make more money than either of the two. Donaire could do a good few more things yet until he retires but ofcourse the very, very few Rigo fans will always be upset even though Rigo beat him but the fact Donaire is more relevant than Rigo is and ever will be... Must suck lol :lol1:

I rate him much higher than Carl Froch his resume is much better too.
