Watching Tyson back in the day with the old man was a reason, but the main fight that did it for me was an old ESPN fight with Mickey Ward and Emmanuel Augustus.:boxing:
i got a job at ups. I was labeling, boxing and shipping packages all over the world. I needed to cut down on my multi-tasking in the plant so i'm now just boxing full time. I love being a boxer, boxing been very, very good to me. Long live ups!:boxing:
hahahahaha
Honestly, watching Tyson and DLH with my pops back in the 90's is what probably got me started, but when I really followed boxing was Hatton Mayweather.
As much as I clown Floyd and his idiotic fan base, that was a great fight and turned me on to boxing. Keep in mind I'm only 23
Can't remember that clear because i was only a little kid but I am pretty sure it was Hagler vs Hearns replay on ABC Wide World Of Sports (I think it was Wide World Of Sports), because Hagler was the first Boxer I was a huge fan of
Watching HBO after dark with my pops after my soccer games in the 90s. Kevin Kelley and Arturo Gatti in particular. Loved watching them fight as a kid...
how did you feel when you found out that your two favourite fighters was a drug user and a cross dresser..
I felt like snorting a line and bangin some hookers. That's as far as I took it though...
was it a certain fighter, fight, nature of sport etc
Saw Tyson a couple times as a kid and he was truly something out of this world. Then kind of lost interest then saw this skinny kid from Puerto Rico with a devastating left hook.....and never looked back since.
Honestly, mike Tyson's punch out. Then I started watching the tyson and Chavez fights with my uncles. Then being the only white boy in my family (and in my neighborhood) got me into the gym for a bit to learn the basics.
When I got older I followed delahoya and Mosley. Two of my all time favorites. But, most recently Bradley got me back into the sport.

Was playing fight night round 4, got gassed over that so me and my friend literally after playing hours of that game searched for a local club. Joined one, felt the bags a bit then stopped going boxing for 2 years as my patented detested it. Filled with anger so just started watching and reading on boxing anticipating my return to amateur boxing at 16. Remember reading charli Magri - charli Magri biography, loved that book and further got me into boxing.
Fell in love completely since, had a few amateur fights and hopefully starting again this summer.
Long live the greatest sport in mankind
The first Tyson/Bruno fight. I remember watching it live with my father, I was just a little kid and found what I was witnessing frightening and amazing at the same time. That fight got me interested. It was the first boxing match I ever saw.
Would say the 1984 US Olympic team really started it all for me. My pops and uncle had took me to fights even earlier then that, but that is the one that shines out the most.
I first got into boxing through my step-father,he used to be the Royal Air Force welterweight champion.
Then when he finished his 20 year service,he moved to Plymouth and started training with the then British and Commonwealth champion Scott Dann.
So When i moved to live with my step-father after finishing my time in the army he took me to the gym where the champion was training and boom.
My love for boxing went insane,i've never looked back since then.
Everybody around me including my dad and my older brother talking about Chavez Sr. I became a fan of his but a fan of other fighters as well. I got hooked.
