So with Haymon fighters continuing to make fights with GBP makes me think all is well between the 2 parties. Like a number of fighters, Porter isn't with GBP, but is still fighting Brook on their card.
The question is how long will this continue?
Schaefer isnt gonna be seen for a loooooong time if ever in the boxing world trust this.
Oscar De La Hoya is about to **** him hard with the legal team, it's pretty much public knowledge Schaefer was doing his typical-banker scheming he was CEO.
I doubt Shaefer opens up his own shop anytime soon. Much of the early success he had getting sponsors and signing fighters was due to Oscar De La Hoya being the biggest name in the sport at the time. Who knows how much success he would have on his own.
The fights had already been made, and the contracts were already signed prior to the GBP breakup. After all the fights on the schedule have been fought, then we can determine if they still have a working relationship or not.
Just one more bump and let's make sure this guy is exposed for what he is, a liar. He made this sh1t up just to fit his and fellow floydiots' doomsday narrative, "no they're still not working together, Hoya is screwed, GBP will get destroyed without Haymon..."
done
the fight is a mandatory and was going up for a purse bid if no deals were reached by a certain date. This had been stated months ago, so please do your homework prior to commenting.
I knew this guy is just lying. He said "the fights had already been made, and the contracts were already signed prior to the GBP breakup."

The fight wasn't made yet prior to the GBP breakup. You're just lying. You know nothing.

LOL at "Manny doesn't pay Top Rank." Arum takes 30% dude, most out of any promoters I know. A big chunk of Manny's purse goes to TR.
You thought TR was promoting Manny out of the goodness of their heart?
The first $20 million doesn't get touched. The 30% gets taken from whatever is left over from the revenue. Thats like winning alot of money at black jack and tipping the dealer. What Al Haymon fighters are doing is paying a door fee to even get in the casino.
Also since you didn't post a link, I'm assuming you don't have one
They seem to be working together now but who knows later this year. I think if Canelo vs Lara is a success which I think it will be I hope they continue to do business together. Let's not act like it was all Schaefer fault everybody new what the f##k was going on over there even the matchmaker Eric Gomes and the whole staff.
If a fighter appears on a GBP card, they are paying GBP for the privilege. Thurman and Garcia have referenced this. I thought that was incredibly obvious.
And of course s fighter pays his manager/advisor. You think Koncz isn't taking a ton of Manny's money every time Pac fights?
Do you have a link from Thurman or Garcia saying this? I've never seen it so I thought that Scaefer was sabotaging GBP by basically promoting these guys for free because everyone thought that they had a contract with GBP when they did not. I'll give you a trillion points if you can find me a legit link
And my concern isn't with having a manager, its being signed exclusively to a manager and having to pay a promoter to fight on their card. Pacquiao pays Koncz but he doesn't pay Top Rank. Top Rank pays him a $20+ million guarantee per fight.
Someone like Garcia has to pay Haymon and GBP. Its dumb
What many posters are failing to realize is that Haymon is just a manager. He's not a promoter. So even if fighters have a managerial contract with Haymon they are still free to sign with whichever promoter they please.
That's what I've been trying to tell all these dudes, they just don't get it.
Speculations are rampant in this sport. The media is useless when it comes to details. We still know nothing about Haymon's real role, how he negotiates fights, which of his fighters are free agents, and many things fans are left speculating. The media is not interested. Have never seen a sport so full of mysteries.
One question that I've had and I've never seen answered is if Porter is only signed with Al Haymon and is fighting on a GBP card, does he pay GBP a fee like Floyd does? Otherwise they are promoting him for free and would be losing money. I can understand them doing it before when they thought he was signed to them but now that its out there that alot of GBP fighters aren't even signed to them, whats in it for GBP?
Its not fair to have to pay a manager and pay a promoter to fight on a card.
more than likely Golden Boy will do what most promoters do regardless of whether or not they have the fighter under contract: They will look at the rights fee offered by Showtime, guesstimate how big a gate / site fee they can generate, calculate the expenses/overhead, and try to reach a purse agreement with the fighters that still lets them generate a profit.
The good thing for GBP if Porter is not under contract, is there are no minimum purses they have to deal with. They can make Porter a "take it or leave it" offer.........
Managers, advisors and promoters are all after one thing- Easy MONEY! Earn affordable the blood, tears, hard work and sacrifice, boxers and their families and coaches hard work! Plain and simple! No body wants a fighter is they can't get something out of you!
Question is, who's behind this mysterious Al Haymon? What entity is he hiding? And what's their objective? (Besides making money). Becoming the Dana White of boxing or is he a member of the illuminati?

Thank you deevel...I've been saying this for fcuking ever. These posters are idiots for the most part
Smart move, Al. This is good for boxing and bad for Floyd/Shafer. Karma is real guys. When you do something out of spite, it comes back on you. When you do good in the world, it comes back to you at some point. Now let's finally see the best fight the best. How can anyone hate on Oscar? He is a good person and he bled in the ring for us for years. it was a lot of passion in his voice at his HOF speech. He's serious about making the best fights for the fans.
Floyd fans want the cold war to continue. It's clear as day.

Porter-Brook was not signed, it's a fresh card hence why I raise this question.

Thank you! Glad somebody else knows this...:fing02:
