Are we the true core of boxing diehards? How many people that just watching boxing if its on ESPN or their HBO channel they subscribed to for movies know that Top Rank and Golden Boy have issues? Did casuals even know who Richard Schaefer is? Do casuals still wonder who are these two twins always walking in the fighters?
Use to be a great Forum for Boxing but it has been invaded by the Casual Mayweather and Pacquiao fans who just login to bash Pacquiao or Mayweather so they can go back and forth with each other.
Most of the Threads are just NEGATIVE now, rarely anything positive being posted on this forum anymore which is SAD
Would love to see this thread stay alive. Didnt get to see it Friday, but watched the Hugo Centeno and Gomez/Santana fights. Decent fights. Gomez/Santana was actually a good fight, Gomez took it too lightly.
How did you get it? I have Directv and can't find anything.
I had to work some magic man. I made a thread on how to do it. PM me if you need help...

EDIT: The only possible way to get it is through the online website they have.
I'll say I consider myself a hardcore boxing fan..
I watch: All HBO and Showtime small and PPV events, including ShowExtreme and HBO2 shows. ESPN and Fox Sports 1, Boxnation, SkySports Boxing, Box Azteca America, Unimas Solo Boxeo, Azteca Mexico, Televisa Sabado De Box. NBCSports Fight Night. Also sometimes I watch FYC Boxeo de Primera.
I also watch the two Golpe a Golpe boxing talk shows.
I always try to attend every Southern California boxing event, no matter which promoter it is, small or big.
HAHAHA yep, I had to figure out how to get it man! Sadly there isn't a service like it in the US.

I figure anyone who bothers to post on an online boxing forum is either a hardcore fan or a crazed nuthugger for a specific fighter.
Can it be both? :D
There are a lot of hard core boxing fans, you can't even really talk here without above average boxing knowledge or you will get clowned bad.
Which is another way you can tell this place has a lot of hardcore boxing fans because hardcore boxing fans are often jerks.
lol anybody who subscribes to boxnation FROM THE USA is proper hardcore ... there we go thread sorted ;)

There was a thread named
"You know you love boxing when"
I remember at the time I was watching a poor quality legal stream of some fights in Mexico. Fights were exciting
I have not been catching them, and i dont speak spanish, but I used to watch alot of fights on Telemundo. LOL
On BoxingScene there are very few "hardcore fans." This is indicated by the threads that are posted and who is consistently in those types of threads. Honestly I see this site as more of a favorite fighter vs the fighter I dislike the most. For instance, I see few threads regarding any fights that have been viewed that are not marquee names.
I for one love this sport, I purchased HBO & Shotime in January of 2012 (strictly for boxing), and it was such a great investment. I have been overly joyed with Shotime. I get to see new fighters, prospects, and fighters on the verge of becoming champions. I get to see multiple fights with mainly fighters I have not seen fight before, guys who are extra hungry to take that next step. Only beef I have with HBO is the constant 1 and 2 fight cards they show, and the only new fighters we see are the ones THEY want us to see.
Always love what ESPN has done, great to see some "big" names and get Saturday night boxing. NBCSports was really on the uprise, but seem to have hit a lull with losing Kovalov and Jennings. FoxSports has done a pretty decent job. I love the Monday and Thursday night fights.
This is my favorite sport. I miss the ESPN message board where we would have many different boxing topics, but this is the only board that I liked since they ended their message boards (SIGH).
If you don't live in the UK, was the Froch-Groves II a major fight for casuals? I don't think it was. Kinna crazy to think that. Casuals would of loved it.
I don't think so, but the fight did get decent ratings. I expect that though. SPeaking only for US fans, Casual fans tend to be drawn by fighters that transcend the sport. Leonard and ODH were olympic heroes, Tyson was a phenom, floyd broke out on 24/7, Manny is an icon in his country.
GUys like Froch don't necessarily attract casual fans. Maybe if ESPN or Fox showed highlights of that KO on the sports wrap up shows they would.
Boxing is basically my life. I'm always watching fights whether live, replays of Unimas or other non-televised cards, streams of cards overseas or classics from way back when. I also go to all of the local amateur boxing events, golden gloves tournaments, etc. I'm always learning something new with everything I watch. I hope to give back to the sport one day when I'm in a position to do so.
