ESPN just updated their list and while it isn't perfect, Cotto deserves to be on there far more than Canelo. Which is why I can't stand the RING P4P rankings anymore.
1. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
2. Andre Ward
3. Manny Pacquiao
4. Timothy Bradley Jr.
5. Juan Manuel Marquez
6. Guillermo Rigondeaux
7. Gennady Golovkin
8. Wladimir Klitschko
9. Miguel Cotto
10. Mikey Garcia

Really? Ah well that's a shame.
I don't see how Gonzalez should be on there over Cotto.
If Doug Fischer had any input to their P4P rankings, I'd say it was him. He loves Gonzalez.
In order for Cotto to be ranked higher than GGG than he would have to theoretically beat him
I'm a Cotto fan but he gets mopped by GGG. He can't deal with GGG come forward attacking style
The RING replaced Sergio with Chocolatito, which is also an okay move. My problem with their list is Canelo at 10.

Agreed that Alvarez absolutely does not belong on that list. Problem with Ring's list is it is done by one man, Chuck Giampa. Remember, this guy had Robert Guerrero on the list at one point.
I couldn't be happier for Cotto. As great as his career was, his world title victories were lukewarm and he lost the 3 biggest fights of his career. He beat some highly ranked contenders but never beat the top dogs in his division, was always holding alphabet titles and didn't have that career defining victory to cement his legacy.
Now he has it and nobody can take it away from him.
The name that really doesn't belong is Mikey, or maybe GGG. Golovkin of course has talent but he just hasn't had the opportunity to truly make a case for P4P yet.
Cotto? He just beat the man to beat at 160. Sergio may have seen better days, but Cotto dominated. Hell, having Mikey right under Cotto is sort of insulting to Miguel.
Honestly, I take more of an issue with Golovkin being #7...
I'm a big fan of Golovkin. I see plenty of potential in him to become great. It appears that many top fighters are hesitant to get in the ring wit him. However, that is irrelevant here. As far as his accomplishments go, I feel it is preposterous for him to be ranked #7 in the entire world. Is the p4p rankings now based on speculation and potential? I feel that it should be based on accomplishments.

Cotto should be higher, Golovkin and Garcia shouldn't even be on the list. And I'm saying this as a huge Mikey Garcia fan. Still, I'm not sure who I'd replace them with.
I wouldn't argue with him being higher. Golovkin at #7 is suspect, sure he seems a very good fighter but you have to prove that by fighting and beating the best.
