Lets put these Martinez knee injury denials to rest

It was a great win for Cotto, we should leave it at that and look for the next opponent. If Martinez had starch'd Cotto then the excuses would be 'Cotto is too small' 'Cotto was never the same after Margarito'. I can't remember the last time a fighter got full credit for winning a fight without anything being taking away from their opponent.

It was a great win any way you slice it. You can't completely take that from Cotto. Sergio wasn't in a wheel chair for crying out loud. A great win? You are telling me a guy that couldn't beat Trout would beat a 100% Martinez. If Martinez accomplishes anything after this defeat then you can make that claim. For the time being it's just a win over a faded opponent that couldn't even put weight behind his punches.

I think Cotto should be judged more on what he does with the title going forward. It wasn't an impressive win but he still had to go in there and handle. This whole thing is just more evidence as to why lineal and division titles mean less and less yet are used more and more to market fighters.

The only deluded ppl are the Cotto stans acting like Cotto beat a prime Martinez. Beating a one legged fighter is nothing to be proud of but they are making it like the biggest victory in Cotto's career because the only name Cotto has on his resume is an 85% shane mosley. obviously it's a combination of both. no reasonable / objective posters are denying that martinez was hurt. cotto beat up a completely shot fighter.
