Cotto vs Froch

Cotto is too much boxer for Froch. Cotto via UD after he puts Froch down two times along the way. Easy fight for Cotto, why are we even talking about this!?! :cool2:

Froch murders him. Cotto is an inferior version of Jermain Taylor, with the same bad stamina and even less power to keep Froch off him. Froch's uppercut, body shots, and head shots would have Roach saving his fighter from punishment by the 8th round.

I've been thinking about this....as a fight it's a horrendous but as an event it could be huge. Froch wants a Vegas fight, he also wants, Im guessing, a fight he could win and look good doing it. If Cotto is serious about a 5th title, why not move up to 166lb cw and challenge Froch. This could be the second biggest event of the year. It'd be a big event, don't see why people are getting so defensive on it. If it's such an easy fight how about Froch just take it, get the Vegas fight, get the money, get the win.

Cotto seems to have many possibilities at the moment. A rematch with Trout to avenge that loss (no thanks), a rematch if Floyd (since Floyd doesn't really have anyone to fight), GGG, Canelo (always has that in the backpocket if he ever loses), but how about Cotto make more history and go up 8 more pounds and try to take a belt at 168. Huge money, fight can be in either Vegas or New York, or even the UK. Cotto can make more history and have a better chance with getting another strap against an aging Froch while avoiding the real 168 champ Ward. Silly fight. It would look ****ing stupid as well with Froch being a head taller. A better match-up which could happen but would still look silly is Cotto vs Martin Murray. You would really see how far Cotto's skills could take him against a big middleweight albeit one that is not a concussive puncher. No, not at all. Segio is a small MW. He could easily have gotten down to 154 lbs. and usually weighs about 2-4 lbs. under the MW limit. Sergio could not go to SMW, even in his prime. He was more likely to go to 154. Cotto walks around at 158 lbs. Froch walks around at 185 lbs. A fight at 168 lbs. would be disastrous for Cotto. I like Cotto but there are limits to how far (weight-wise that he can move up). Remember he only weighed 155 for the Sergio fight. Come fight night Cotto would be maybe 161-163 lbs max and Froch would be 180-182 lbs. That would be asking an awful lot from Cotto. Cotto is a marketing genius and would never take this fight. By beating Sergio, he earned 2-3 more HUGE paydays in the $15-25 million range. Froch walks around at 175, usually fights at 172-173. You are right though, just way too big for Miguel. His come forward style would make the size difference even worse for Cotto.

I picked Sergio to win and am a huge Sergio fan but Cotto looked great. He is a JMW who moved up 1 whole lb. to take on Sergio. He is MW Champ now, so the GGG fight is in his weight class but Cotto is not going over 156-157 lbs, period. He doesn't owe anyone a fight over the MW limit.
