The American coach comes forward with a bold statement. Tommy Brooks does know a thing or two about heavyweights though.
The American coach has trained a who's who of heavyweight greats including Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson and the Klitschko brothers.
Brooks' latest charge is British heavyweight star David Price, 17-2 (15). Brooks has been overseeing the rebuilding process for the Olympic Bronze medalist, following back-to-back defeats to Tony Thompson.
"He is coming on like gangbusters, baby! said Brooks. "He has a real bright future ahead of him. I wouldn't be here if I didn't think he could make it all the way to the top.
"His losses to Thompson came because of inexperience.
He didn't know what to do. When he got dropped he jumped straight up. When he had Thompson hurt he ran right at him, you've got to set it up.
"But experience doesn't fall out of the sky. He needs to be shown. That's why I am here, to teach him, so that if he is in that situation again he knows what he has to do.
"You can tell he is really starting to understand what I am showing him. If he keeps listening to what I am saying, this time next year he will be ready for Wladimir".
What do you guys think?
This Brooks guy is obviously off the rails.
I agree after watching that recent fight. I always liked price's power which was about the only thing going for him but even that looked unimpressive in his last fight. he was just pushing his punches and had no snap at all
Same here. I told people he would get stretched as soon as he stepped up. I seen the guy getting folded in the amateurs, and that was with big pillows on their fists and headguards! He took his amateur style into the pros and learned nothing knocking guys out in a couple of rounds.

I remember a couple years ago before the Thompson fights, people here where hyping the hell out of Price saying he would be the real successor to Wladimir. The next #1 heavy, etc. People were completely delusional in their belief. I made a threat back then too and most people agreed Price was the next big thing. I was never sold on him in the first place, much like I'm not sold on Wilder now.

watched bambi on ice on sat ie mr price hes **** yeah he went 10rounds with a 40yr old semi retired punchbag on sat who threw 2punches a round price was abt having a heart attack after 4rounds never seen such heavy breathing like that wtf poor stamina leg work chin suspect and if you attack him he goes into a shell.plus points got rounds in has power can box ok.hel get found out again when steps up .complete :greddy2:*****
I voted no. Price has the skills and punching power to be a threat to anyone. His chin is terrible and will keep him from ever being a champion. Wlad would not need his straight right or his left hook. He could KO Price with a stiff jab.
