Dan Rafeal tweeted that nothing changed and that Martinez was always scheduled to walk out second and be announced second as well as weigh in second. Why Cotto didn't correct him at the face off is not known. Maybe he didn't know at that point.

I think it was a concession by Cotto. I think Cotto actually negotiated to be announced second. Whether his change of heart was something the came up last minute, or whether it was his intention all along, I wouldn't venture to guess. Maybe he intended to let the champ come out second all along and just made it an issue during the negotiations as part of the mind games. A d*ck measuring contest of sorts.
