lol. no one said he's ducking cotto. Yes, I know. I was just echoing some of these posters who were stating that Floyd would demand Cotto fire Roach as his trainer, if the two were to ever fight again; Which is something, I find to be very absurd. Let's not kid ourselves and get carried away here and not taking anything away from Miguel's victory over Sergio but the last time I checked; Mayweather was not some shot, washed out, injury prone fighter, who had recently undergone three knee operations in the past 14 months. Which was the sole reason behind Freddie Roach's and Miguel Cotto's decision to challenge Martinez in the first place as opposed to Canelo Alvarez. He was considered because he was perceived as the weaker link of the two since that Chavez, Jr fight ruined him.
Money May isn't ducking Cotto because he's already has defeated him but a Miguel Cotto vs Saul Alvarez is match up made in heaven. It's must see tv. Both fighters bring a lot to the bargaining table in terms of fan base, broader audiences but most of all a lot of money. That fight should commence sometime later this Fall. Also, as far as the Golovkin bout is concerned, it should come much later than sooner, in order for it to build enough momentum among the casual fan to become marketable.

I would be shocked if it didn't happen. IMO this was the strategy all along. Biggest money fight for Cotto. Floyd thinks it's low risk and gets him the middle weight title.
This is the money fight.
His gaurentee was not 15 mill. He made 15 mill after everything was said and done. So yes 13 and 15 mill are close. Here's an example of biggest pay day by far. Spinks in the tyson fight made more in one night than his whole career. That's biggest pay day by far...
Lol cotto didn't make 13mil against Pac. Don't make numbers up. He got a 5mil guarantee and a 30% share of half of all ppv revenue. That's not 13mil. Sorry.
U do know he made 15 plus a ppv percentage. And even with that said11mil and 15 mil aren't close. Smh.

Biggest pay day by far?! He made 13 mill against pac and 15 for mayweather. This is so ridiculous. He prolly made another 11-12 tonight.

Once again, there's no way cotto makes more money against Canelo. His biggest payday was Mayweather by far. Thats not changing. Another fight between them would be huge. N it saying it isn't opportunistic but it's the truth.

Disagree there.
Hasn't been a huge Mexico vs Puerto Rico fight in a while, Cotto and Canelo is consensus 50/50 match up. Cotto-Mayweather we've already seen that story before.
Still a much bigger fight. The first one was close. Floyd looks vukrrabke and for a middleweight title? Two of the 3 biggest draws in the sport? Yes that's not speculative. That's over 1.5 mil buys. Neither cotto or canelo have ever pulled anywhere near 1 mil by themselves. It's just logic. Mayweather just did 900k with Marcos frikkin Maidana
