Got offered names like degale, Bika and Anthony Dirrell, but he still complains he can't get a fight?
Seriously....dude just keep falling down a hole
Battling a promoter in court carries risk. This isn't Judge Judy. A lawsuit could take months, years to be resolved. However Ward maintains that he is willing to fight for Goossen while the lawsuit plays out. But he says he has not had one legitimate offer from Goossen since December. Names like Sakio Bika, James DeGale and Anthony Dirrell have been floated but, says Ward, those fights represent a step back. And while there has been a public push for Ward to move up to light heavyweight--specifically for a fight with Sergey Kovalev--Ward says there are still plenty of opponents for him in the super middleweight division.
Goosen screwing me over! Because I can't stop saying no to the fights he offers me!
he already fought sakio bika...
as for degale and anthony dirrell, the brits would call those "cherrypicks" if he took the fights, and ducks if he didn't.
they're like little children who think their fathers are the toughest guys on the planet.
why would I call any of them cherry picks, they would both be better than Rodriguez and a drained Dawson. Are they the best fights to be made? Hell no! But are they better than his last two pieces of crap...yes
when talkin about 4 possible fights with russian interim champ, bika, de gale and anthony dirrel:
"we said make us an offer, not one offer has been made. dont believe everything you read"
people are being harsh on ward.
Why did he want THEM to make an offer? He's the one with the fat HBO contract, so surely the onus is on him.
serious questions. are you content with the direction ward's career has taken since the froch fight? what are your hopes for the remainder of his career?
good luck getting a sreious answer out of me on andre ward in the aftermath of a carl froch fight.
riling brits up is way, way too easy.
True dat NE. Ward's better off sitting out on the sidelines indefinitely instead of wastin his time wit dose chumps
i wouldn't go breaking my baby hands on those chumps for slave wages if i were the prince.
kiss the rings.

You mean the same basketball fans who are calling him a b*tch because he wouldn't play because of cramps that kept the guy from being able to walk? Lebron is more hated and unappreciated than any great boxer today.
yes, those people exactly. but you are missing my point completely.
the whole point was regardless of how much people hate him they still watch him play. it doesnt matter if they root for or against him, they watch. when you are the best, people are interested in watching you perform in other sports.
in boxing people dont bother watching greatness, so the sport is no longer about ability. its like a freaking reality show were people get voted on or off depending on how appalling they act (the appalling people being voted to stay).
since its no longer about ability promoters just find popular fighters, hype them up to be great and thats who people tune in to watch. thats how cherry picking came about, back in the day everyone fought everyone because thats how you became a name. by proving you are the best. today its a popularity contest that has nothing to do with boxing ability.
"fans" complain the best fighters dont fight each other, but why would they? its not like it matters, how good you are is irrelevant. quality boxing is boring and being the best is hardly even relevant in the sport anymore.
the most popular fighters are seldom the best so they need to be protected, if people didnt choose to watch them over the top guys they would have no choice but to fight the best and sink or swim. but they do since quality is just boring and uninteresting anyways.
get it?

Ward figures Super 6 should have made him a super star.. But the guy who came in 2nd is getting all the glory.
Ward hasn't moved past this yet and is probably a bit delusional about his own star power.
For whatever reason.. Ward has no star power and he needs to accept it and BOX already.
Stardom is like a virus.. Some people catch it and some don't.
It sucks when those not as good as you catch it. But whining about it isn't going to fix it.
What people fail to understand is that it took froch years to become a star, it wasn't until 2012 that he really became a big name in the UK. Froch had to earn his dues....Ward has two good names on his resume, that's Kessler and Froch, whereas Cobra has a whole multitude of whos who at the weight.
Froch paid his dues, Ward has to do the same now.

I cannot watch the vid, but it was from an article here on boxingscene.
i don't like ward's attitude at all. he has the potential to be truly great but he acts like his career is already largely over
I think the shoulder injury gave him a different perspective. Another one, and that might be it.
He's in the same position as Bernard Hopkins was years ago but unfortunately Ward has taken himself out of the game instead of using his position at HBO to create interest. Ward should've took a page for hopkins. Just kept beating his drum, calling out the money fighters while staying active by fighting whatever bum of the month is available. Eventually he'd get enough public support for promoters to make those fights.
George Foreman
this is whats killing boxing, people may hate the lebrons of the world but they still appreciate his greatness. they may not support the player but they support quality and with that the advancement of the game.
in boxing greatness gets labeled boring and shunned while mediocrity is celebrated. when quality stopped being appreciated promoters would just take garbage but well liked fighters and label them as good, then it snowballed from there.
